Fan-Favorite MCU Spider-Man Character Returns in Brand New Day

A recent rumor suggests a popular character from Spider-Man’s history might be included in the next Marvel Cinematic Universe movie.

What character might be returning in Spider-Man: Brand New Day?

During a recent discussion on The Cosmic Circus, insider Alex Perez shared some potential spoilers for the upcoming movie. He said he’s heard that J. Jonah Jameson, the famous editor from The Daily Bugle, will appear, and Angourie Rice will reprise her role as Betty Brant, working for Jameson. Perez also hinted that Marvel might introduce Robbie Robertson, another Spider-Man character, in the film.

I was so excited to see J. Jonah Jameson pop up in the recent Spider-Man movies – and J.K. Simmons was perfect, as always! I’ve been following the news about the next Spider-Man film, which is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. He did a fantastic job with ‘Shang-Chi’ back in 2021, so I have high hopes. It’s interesting to remember he was once considered to direct one of the Avengers movies – ‘The Kang Dynasty’ – but he ended up stepping away from that project in November 2023.

Tom Holland will return as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the next movie. Emmy-winning actress Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are also anticipated to reprise their roles in the sequel.

The film will also feature actors Sadie Sink from “Stranger Things,” Liza Colón-Zayas from “The Bear,” Jon Bernthal, and Chris Messina, along with other cast members. Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, and Avi Arad are producing the movie.

I’m so excited! It’s official – the next Spider-Man movie is coming to theaters on July 31, 2026! That means we’ll get to see him swing into action before the next big Avengers team-up, Doomsday, hits in December of that year, and even before Secret Wars arrives in December 2027. It’s going to be an amazing few years for Marvel fans!
