The conclusion of the series “Good American Family” has arrived, and although the actual Kristine Barnett remains private, a bogus account under the name of Natalia Grace’s previous adoptive mother has surfaced, deceiving viewers into thinking she is releasing a new book.
Initially, the opening segment of the latest Hulu series delves into the allegations made by Kristine and Michael Barnett concerning Natalia’s maturity at the time of adoption. However, as the story unfolds, it shifts its attention to present Natalia’s viewpoint in the subsequent episodes.
In a shocking turn of events, it’s alleged that Kristine subjected Natalia to physical and emotional abuse before manipulating her age from eight to 22 years old in 2012, with the assistance of her then-spouse. This change in age was used as a means to leave Natalia alone in an apartment by themselves.
In the second half of these claims, it’s accurate: Natalia was indeed a child when she was adopted by the Barnetts in 2010. Nevertheless, the accusations against them were dismissed – as revealed in Good American Family Episode 8, ‘Blood On Her Hands’, the legal proceedings were complex.
The Kristine Barnett book Witch Hunt is fake
Recently, Kristine has faced a surge of criticism, with a significant portion focused on a non-existent Facebook account. This account supposedly linked to a new book called “Witch Hunt: The Kristine Barnett Story,” but upon investigation, the book appears to be fictional.
Her actual Facebook profile is now private, so you can’t view or interact with her updates or photos. While she hasn’t explicitly explained the reason, it appears that she faced severe criticism following the airing of ID’s documentary series titled “The Curious Case of Natalia Grace.
In January 2024, a short while after the launch of the follow-up season, a new profile emerged, pretending to be Kristine. The bio states, “Author, Devoted Mother, Champion for Children with Special Needs, Wordsmith, & Activist,” which is what it says.
People have publicly displayed authentic images and reviews of Kristine’s book “The Spark”, detailing her experiences in raising her son Jacob, as well as comments regarding the public response to the documentary series.
As expected, the fleeting fashion of feigning concern for Natalia has waned, leaving behind only those genuinely affected and fixated in each circle.” They stated in a post. “It appears your actions were less about caring and more about exploiting a mother for bullying purposes.
In March 2024, they posted a preview of their upcoming book titled Witch Hunt. The post read: “Using exclusive DNA evidence and accounts from medical professionals and law enforcement, my latest work offers an in-depth investigation into the past that aims to finally reveal the truth.
In this chapter, we find resolution.” The cover features an authentic image of Kristine along with an imagined caption from The New York Times, lauding it as “an inspiring account of courage and determination.
The story in this book isn’t factual, but it has tricked many people. One person wrote that they hope nobody pays for it and instead, everyone shares it online freely. Another commented that they enjoy seeing when someone who is self-centered tries to present themselves as a victim, and makes money by publishing a book about it.
A third person commented, “What if we consider the DNA test which clearly establishes that Natalia’s mother was born in 1979. This strongly suggests that it is extremely improbable for Natalia to have been born in 1989 due to simple logic.
Following the debut of Good American Family, many viewers have rushed to the comment section to voice their disapproval of her. One commenter even remarked, “Just remember that OJ was found not guilty as well, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he was innocent.
Another person remarked, “You may share your memoirs online and update your Facebook status, but nothing you write can change the undeniable fact that Natalia Grace was a minor when you left her.
Some enthusiasts of the true crime case have uncovered that certain information is false, and one such individual on Reddit stated, “I’m not a fan of Kristine, but the account where this was posted is proven to be fake. I believe we won’t hear from her again, but this isn’t the end of it.
Currently, you can stream “Good American Family” on Hulu, while “The Curious Case of Natalia Grace” is available on Max.
