‘Eyes of Tammy Faye’ Actor Gabriel Olds Arrested, Charged With Seven Felony Sexual Assault Counts

As a long-time movie enthusiast who has witnessed the rise and fall of countless stars, I must admit that the news about Gabriel Olds‘ arrest is deeply disheartening. Having played a significant role in many of our favorite productions over the years, it’s hard to reconcile the man we knew on screen with these horrific allegations.

On Wednesday, Gabriel Olds, a well-known character actor who appeared as Pat Robertson in “The Eyes of Tammy Faye” starring Jessica Chastain, was apprehended by the West Bureau investigators in Los Angeles. The LAPD has charged him with seven felony counts of sexual assault. His court appearance is scheduled for Thursday. This incident occurred around 9:40 a.m. near Norway Lane and Norman Place in Brentwood.

The investigators from the Special Assault Section of the LAPD’s Operations-West Bureau are currently looking for more victims and witnesses regarding a string of sexual assaults in Los Angeles. They suspect these crimes might be linked to an individual named Olds, who is a graduate of Yale University and the son of Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Sharon Olds.

On January 19, 2023, a 41-year-old woman accused Olds of raping her at her home in Los Angeles. Later, two more adult victims stepped forward with similar allegations, dating back to 2013. They recounted consensual dates that escalated into brutal sexual assaults.

On the 19th of July, the District Attorney’s office in Los Angeles County brought seven counts of felony sexual assault charges against Olds. A warrant for his arrest was subsequently issued by the Los Angeles Superior Court, with a bail set at $3.5 million.

As a movie enthusiast hailing from the bustling city of New York, I’ve had the privilege of being part of the silver screen world since the mid-90s, gracing projects like “Calendar Girl” with Jason Priestly and more recently, “NCIS: Los Angeles.” Beyond my on-screen roles, I’m also a screenwriter who stood united during last year’s WGA strike. However, recent allegations against me paint a different picture. It’s said that I leveraged my education from an esteemed Ivy League institution and my success in the film industry to meet women through dating apps. The authorities claim that three anonymous women, referred to as Jane Does, reported that I manipulated their trust during our initial encounters, only to turn aggressive without their consent afterwards.

As a movie-goer and story enthusiast, I’ve uncovered some unsettling news about a film’s production. It appears that investigators have found two additional women who experienced less violent forms of sexual misconduct. The troubling part is, the main actor, Olds, has been traveling extensively across the nation for his acting roles. This raises concerns among detectives that there could be more victims out there who haven’t spoken up yet.

Detective Brent Hopkins, a supervisor from the Special Assault Section, mentions that they’ve repeatedly encountered the same story. “Mr. Olds initially presented himself as charismatic,” he explains, “but later resorted to extreme violence during his rapes. Many of the victims endured their suffering in silence for years before mustering the courage to share their experiences. Now that he’s been apprehended, we aim to ensure that every voice is heard.”

For several decades, Olds has been a prominent figure in television, featuring in numerous network crime dramas along with critically-acclaimed series such as “Boardwalk Empire” and “Six Feet Under”. He is also well-established within New York’s theater scene, boasting credits like performing in Arthur Miller’s “A View from the Bridge” at the Roundabout Theater.

Gina Gershon and Paula Patton are represented by Imperium 7 Talent Agency, a small yet prestigious talent agency. However, the agency has yet to provide a comment regarding a recent inquiry.
