Emily, known for her Extra enthusiasm, found herself temporarily restricted from Twitch following an unconventional livestream. During this broadcast, she flouted legal norms by running a red light and captured the entire incident on stream. The clip gained widespread attention, resulting in her temporary banishment from the platform. However, her return was swift.
Historically, Twitch has been criticized for its inconsistency in enforcing bans, as it has been observed to reinstate banned content creators such as Adin Ross. Notably, when high-profile creators are suspended from the platform, these suspensions tend to be temporary rather than long-term.
Following ExtraEmily’s popularity for driving through a red light without pause, it became evident that she had broken the rules while streaming. Consequently, she received a ban from Twitch due to this violation of their service terms.
Emily switches her camera’s direction to capture herself driving, ignoring the red traffic signal as they seem excessively prolonged.

However, a recent message from ExtraEmily’s Discord indicates that her ban is only temporary, lasting just a single day. She mentioned her intention to resume streaming activities shortly.
ExtraEmily gets slap on the wrist from Twitch
The issue of reckless driving is a popular topic on Twitch, as numerous prominent streamers often share footage of them using their phones to read chat or maneuvering cameras while behind the wheel. Interestingly, such actions don’t violate any specific laws.
In most American states, I personally find that it’s acceptable to use my phone hands-free during driving, just remember not to text while behind the wheel to stay on the safe side!

There’s been a lot of discussion about FaZe Lacy lately, as people are questioning his actions after he was seen reading chat messages while driving. Interestingly, since the interpretation of road laws can vary, Lacy might not have broken any specific law, even though many may view his behavior as potentially reckless or unsafe driving. However, it’s essential to note that responsibility and safety should always come first when operating a vehicle.
Twitch‘s terms of service also state: “You are prohibited from demonstrating or endorsing risky or inattentive driving behaviors, such as using a phone while operating a vehicle under the influence, although it’s unclear if ‘using’ your phone means simply looking at it or physically handling it. This leaves some room for Twitch to determine what constitutes unsafe driving.
Meanwhile, ExtraEmily found herself in a situation where she had broken some unquestionable rules on Twitch, resulting in a temporary ban. However, the ban period is quite short.
In a message to her followers on Discord, she spoke about the prohibition and shared that she plans to return either on Monday or Tuesday, implying that she’ll resume her streaming activities the following day after the ban is lifted.
Furthermore, instead of offering a direct apology, she expressed that her ban was “reasonable” and stated that she would strive to create entertaining content and learn from the mistake made.
At the moment, it’s uncertain whether ExtraEmily faced any legal consequences for running a red light.
