Approximately two weeks before its launch, a pre-release event titled “Death Stranding 2: On The Beach” was held, orchestrated by Geoff Keighley. Notably, Hideo Kojima himself graced the occasion. During the event, he discussed various aspects of the game including its evolution over the past few years, and even unveiled some gameplay snippets. At the event, we were treated to a real-time demonstration (at the 42nd minute) featuring Sam and Lou navigating a mountain range in Mexico. The scene included strange arachnid-like creatures roaming about, as well as a powerful earthquake triggering an avalanche that necessitated the player to keep their footing stable.

Among the standout segments is the one displaying Elle Fanning’s portrayal of Tomorrow in battle. The scene showcases her formidable abilities, allowing her to vanquish adversaries with apparent ease. Check it out below.

During the gameplay, I found myself in a blazing, eerie locale squaring off against Neil, who bore a striking resemblance to Solid Snake and his troops. The creators demonstrated diverse weapon functionalities ranging from rifles, shotguns, to grenade launchers, and even stealth attacks. The area’s explosive fireworks only added to the thrilling atmosphere.

During the performance, viewers were given a glimpse into the process of music production with artists Woodkid and Elle Fanning, and they had the opportunity to hear insights from esteemed guests.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will be released on June 26 exclusively on PlayStation 5.
