In a nutshell, Illidge described the “Bloodletter” series as centering around our protagonist, Tasha Thornwall. She employs her magical prowess and hidden knowledge to navigate a realm that relentlessly hurls threats from both Heaven and Hell at her. Collaborating with my comrades-in-arms, Tim and Christian, we’re eagerly utilizing our unique blend of talents to reveal the enigmatic past of the Spawn Universe for fans. This behind-the-scenes history promises to be as thrilling and terrifying as promised. We can hardly wait to immerse you in Tasha’s world and keep you hooked!

Seeley shared his unique perspective on the story “Bloodletter“, stating that ” fundamentally, this narrative revolves around fusion. For our protagonist, Tasha, it’s the blend of espionage and street magic that makes her an indomitable survivor in a realm inhabited by characters such as Spawn, Overtkill, and Violator. Additionally, the comic is a fusion itself, a creation born from Joe, Christian, and me, something entirely novel, none of which we would have independently developed.

Rosado commented, ‘Tasha’s story is about blood, magic, self-questioning evil, love, and redemption. As a team, we simply tell her tale, one chapter at a time. Tasha has developed a life of her own, and our task is to share it with you. Set in a world that pushes boundaries and is shrouded in darkness, there’s a fresh character who is an honor to depict. Joe, Tim, and I are dedicated to revealing her struggles and the message she imparts.’

In its own distinctive fashion, the new series titled “Bloodletter” is set to navigate through the realm of the Spawn Universe. Already drawing parallels with renowned series such as “Witchblade”, “Something is Killing the Children”, and “Psylocke”, it’s worth noting that the upcoming series will stay true to the established legacy of “Spawn”, a tradition that has been upheld for over three decades. This shouldn’t come as a shock, given the recent expansion and continued growth of the Spawn Universe in the past year, with even more developments expected as we move towards 2025.

Bloodletter #1 will arrive in comic book stores everywhere on June 18 from Image Comics.
