The global dominance of K-pop continues, and this time it’s making its mark on Netflix. Another highly anticipated K-drama featuring a well-known actor will be airing shortly.
It’s that time of year when we get excited about our beloved K-pop artists gracing the small screen with their fictional debuts! We’ve recently witnessed Lisa stepping into her role on The White Lotus Season 3 as Mook, and she’s been impressing viewers right from the start.
It’s clear that Netflix wasn’t planning to fall behind in this arena. With K-dramas, they’re taking the front row seat, and they have some highly anticipated series planned for the remainder of the year, such as Squid Game Season 3.
In essence, they are enhancing themselves by incorporating a popular K-pop appearance in their upcoming series, which seems to be an effective strategy.
Blackpink’s Jisoo to star in Netflix K-drama Boyfriend on Demand
It’s not just Lisa who’s displaying her acting abilities within Blackpink; Jisoo is also joining the scene, as she has been chosen to act in the upcoming Netflix K-drama titled Boyfriend on Demand.
In a twist of events, the romantic comedy will trace the journey of weary webtoon creator Mira (played by Jisoo), who finds an escape in a paid online dating simulator. It won’t be long before she encounters her ideal partner, but is their relationship as simple as it seems?
In simpler terms, Netflix describes the story of Mi-rae, who yearns for another shot at love in the realm of virtual reality. Overwhelmed by a busy schedule that leaves her dating life non-existent, Mi-rae unexpectedly gets a ‘Monthly Boyfriend’ device. Diving into this digital world, she meets seemingly flawless partners, rekindling her long-dormant feelings for romance.
Jisoo acts alongside Seo In-guk, who portrays Park Kyeong-nam. In the storyline, he’s Mi-rae’s coworker and professional rival in webtoon production. Although he seems detached and frosty towards her, Park Kyeong-nam is a character concealing hidden mysteries that will evoke strong feelings within Mi-rae.
