Previous Nintendo workers are confident that the organization will identify those accountable for prematurely revealing details about the Switch 2 consoles.
In a video shared on May 27th, ex-employees of Nintendo, named Kit and Krysta, took time to analyze and share their thoughts about a picture from Target that’s been circulating on various social platforms.
The image under discussion depicts two Nintendo Switch 2 consoles in an open cart, apparently prepared for distribution. Following this, various photos have popped up on the internet, with some enthusiasts claiming they’ve obtained the portable system from vendors, even though it’s locked behind a day-one update.
Well, according to the pair, Nintendo will likely find those responsible for the leaks.
Former Nintendo employees warn Switch 2 leakers
It seems this incident reminds me of the launch of the original Nintendo Switch. Just about a week after its release, there was a viral video showing someone with the system. The response was similar to an emergency situation as everyone was eager to understand the circumstances surrounding it,” said Kit.
What’s intriguing is that Nintendo has the ability to be quite specific, even pinpointing details such as its location, the person it belongs to, and the retailer where it was purchased. It was quite unexpected for me…In fact, items like these can be scanned and recognized.
Kit pointed out that Nintendo has numerous methods to discover the source of the leaks, allowing them to “identify who’s responsible” even after the leaked information has been disseminated.

Nintendo has a strong reputation for vigilantly pursuing individuals who leak information and is especially tough in guarding its creative works.
On May 2, Nintendo disclosed their intention to pursue a lawsuit against Genki due to the unauthorized release of early designs (mockups and renderings) of the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Notably, Gary Bowser, known as a notorious Nintendo “hacker,” was previously compelled to surrender a significant portion (25-30%) of his earnings for the remainder of his life, following his development of software enabling users to illegally download Nintendo Switch games.
