Evil Dead Franchise Continues With Evil Dead Wrath In 2027

The Evil Dead series is making history by releasing two new movies in consecutive years for the first time ever. Director Sam Raimi announced at CinemaCon on Tuesday that the next film, currently titled Evil Dead Wrath, is scheduled to hit theaters in 2027, continuing the franchise’s recent comeback.

I recently attended a conference where Sam Raimi presented his new film, and he boldly claimed it’s going to be the scariest movie of the year. That’s a pretty big promise, but knowing Raimi’s work, I’m inclined to believe him!

But before then, fans can revisit the world of the Necronomicon in Evil Dead Burn, a new film directed by Sébastien Vaniček. It’s set to be released in theaters on July 24, 2026, and a trailer is expected to arrive as the release date gets closer.

Francis Galluppi, the director known for The Last Stop in Yuma County, will be writing and directing Evil Dead Wrath. Details about the story are being kept secret, but Sam Raimi has already publicly complimented Galluppi’s storytelling abilities in an interview with Deadline.

Francis Galluppi is a skilled storyteller who expertly builds suspense and knows exactly when to unleash intense action. His first feature film demonstrates remarkable directorial control.

I’m really excited about the new Evil Dead film! It’s going to star Charlotte Hope, Jessica McNamee, Zach Gilford, Josh Helman, Ella Newton, Elizabeth Cullen, and Ella Oliphant – a fresh cast which I always appreciate. From what I understand, it won’t be a direct sequel, but more of a standalone story like Evil Dead Rise. So, a completely new group of people stumbling upon the infamous Book of the Dead and all the terrifying stuff that happens when they do. Sounds good to me!
