In December 2022, the first Troll movie was released on Netflix, telling a story about an explosion in the Norwegian mountains that awakened a massive troll, causing chaos. This film quickly gained popularity, making it Netflix’s most-watched non-English language movie.

Troll 2 will hit Netflix on December 1, 2025, which mirrors the release of its predecessor.
In the movie, Roar Uthaug teams up again with screenwriter Espen Aukan, as well as producers Espen Horn and Kristian Strand Sinkerud.
