Everything we know about Rematch

The game “Rematch” is a swiftly moving 5v5 soccer game, developed by the independent studio Sloclap, who are also responsible for the 2022 action-packed brawler titled “Sifu”.

In the style of Rocket League for soccer enthusiasts, players assume command of an individual kicker on the field, viewing the action from a third-person viewpoint instead of directing an entire team as seen in conventional sports titles such as FIFA by EA Sports.

From May 28 to May 31 in 2025, Sloclap conducted betas for their arcade game. The latest beta test attracted a massive number of participants. According to SteamDB, the player count during the 72-hour period reached an impressive peak of 159,865 players, suggesting a high level of interest among gamers.

Here’s everything we know about Rematch, including when you’ll be able to play it.

Rematch release date

The game “Rematch” will officially become available for play on June 19th. Prior to this, there were several beta phases where players could get a sneak peek of the game. If you’ve been following early gameplay footage, that’s likely what you’ve seen. But mark your calendars, as the full version of the game won’t be accessible until June 19th. So, there’s not much longer to wait!

Rematch pits two teams of five against each other on the soccer pitch.

Platforms

You can play Rematch on your PC through Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. On Steam, you can pre-purchase Rematch for around £20.99 (approximately $30). The cost of console versions of Rematch hasn’t been specified yet, but it’s likely they will be priced similarly or identically to the PC version.

If you want to get in on the action sooner, a Pro and Elite edition of Rematch on Steam grants three-day early access.

On February 19th, as announced through the official Twitter account of Rematch X, developers Sloclap expressed intentions to incorporate cross-platform play into the game, Rematch. It’s important to note, though, that these plans don’t necessarily mean cross-play will definitely be implemented.

We plan to have it supported ✨
