The latest season of “Vanderpump Villa” boasts one notable aspect: the comeback of Stassi Schroeder. Known as a central figure in the early seasons of “Vanderpump Rules”, Schroeder’s sharp wit, dramatic birthday blowouts, and knack for delivering cutting remarks have earned her a place among reality TV legends. In the second episode of “Pump Rules”, she made it clear, “Remember, I am the Devil.
Originally from “Vanderpump Rules”, Stassi Schroeder was eventually let go in 2020 due to racially insensitive actions toward Faith Stowers, a former cast member. She acknowledged her role in the situation, stating, “I am the reason for being in this predicament.” Instead of focusing on cancel culture or labeling herself as a victim, she emphasized that it doesn’t align with how she feels.
During her absence from our TV screens, Schroeder dedicated time to learning about race in America, got married to Beau Clark, started a family with two children, and wrote two books. The new Stassi who appears at Lisa Vanderpump’s Castello Rosato is more thoughtful and considerate. However, her old habits persist, as evidenced by her outbursts, such as her birthday tantrum, which has been a contributing factor to the popularity of this spinoff series, “Vanderpump Villa”.
In case you’re curious, here’s a guide to some memorable moments of Stassi on “Vanderpump Villa”.
How much Stassi are we getting?
In essence, the current season of Vanderpump Villa centers around Vanderpump organizing a trip to Italy for the staff, where they compete in providing service. This service sometimes includes offering lap dances or kissing guests. The finale awards $30,000 and a permanent position at a Vanderpump business to the winner.
In the first episode, Stassi enters Castello Rosato around midway through, while she exits towards the end of the final episode. Throughout most episodes, Stassi and her husband Beau appear together approximately three times, with their storyline centering on Stassi’s effort to learn Italian to secure citizenship. However, in episode seven titled “Stassi’s Birthday Meltdown,” she is the featured guest instead of her usual focus on language learning.
Why does Stassi freak out on her birthday?
Stassi kicks off her birthday festivities with her sibling Georgie, Beau’s sister Georgia, Beau’s friend Rob, her best friend Taylor, and Taylor (who is dating Taylor). In other words, she’s hosting Georgie, Georgia, two Taylors, and one more Taylor. Is that clear?
On our first dinner together, I found myself feeling a bit uncomfortable when I noticed that my partner’s sister and he had each other’s names tattooed. I suggested jokingly that it would be nice if she got a tattoo of my name, similar to what Jax did with Kristen in season two of VPR after we had parted ways. However, Beau politely declined, citing superstitions about getting a romantic partner’s name inked. This rejection made me uneasy, as it seemed to indicate that he prioritized his sister over me and perhaps harbored incestuous feelings towards her. Ouch! One of the Taylors then mentioned that siblings who didn’t grow up together could still develop romantic feelings, as she had observed on Law & Order. Triple yikes! This only served to escalate my concerns, so I decided to address the issue directly with Beau, leading to this intriguing exchange:
Beau: I think you should check yourself about how you’re talking to me.
Stassi: No.
Stassi believes that Beau seems to value Georgia over her since she makes him feel uneasy. Meanwhile, one of the villa staff members, Hagen, praises Stassi as iconic and expresses his gratitude for getting to witness a Stassi birthday argument up close.
But is it really her birthday?
It is not! Stassi’s birthday is in June, and the show was shot in August.
What’s her “job” at the villa?
Translated more casually, we could say that Lisa acts as if she’s a supervisor figure (a manager) in this context. She accompanies her to the villa to keep tabs on the staff and meddle in their private affairs. For instance, when she witnesses a staff member crying due to everyone being frustrated with him, she approaches him to check on his well-being and then offers him unsolicited advice such as, “I understand why everyone is finding you hard to deal with.” To be fair, the guy can be quite aggravating.
Additionally, she takes part in a shared episode with “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” when bartender Sam shares a kiss with Layla Taylor, a character from that show. This kiss leads to a fallout in Sam’s relationship, and Stassi shares this news with Lisa, who finds the ensuing chaos quite amusing.
Why are staff members kissing guests? That seems like an HR nightmare.
Absolutely, the power structure in this series is quite unusual. The guests are required to complete feedback forms after they leave, rating staff members based on their performance. This means that refusing a kiss could potentially jeopardize one’s job and hinder the chance of winning $30,000. During an incident involving a kiss, Stassi mentioned that a staff member was forced to kiss a guest during a game of “Drink or Dare”. As Lisa exclaimed, it seems as though she’s running a house of ill repute!
And what does Beau do?
Essentially, Beau serves as Stassi’s primary tutor in Italian, given that he and their family hold Italian citizenship, and Stassi stands a chance of acquiring it if she can pass the language test. However, in episode four, Stassi humorously proposes the idea of bribing someone instead of genuinely learning the language as a possible shortcut.
How much classic Stassi are we really getting?
Stassi primarily serves as the source of humor in the group. She typically avoids playing the antagonist, with the exception of her birthday pranks. However, she shares some entertaining interactions with Beau, Lisa Vanderpump, and the rest of the crew. Let’s take a look at some of those memorable instances:
Initially, she requests a side of ranch dressing. This action makes Lisa’s spouse, Ken, inquire about the nature of ranch. It’s hard to believe you manage restaurants when you don’t seem to be aware of what ranch is. This situation seems as phony as the time you spread Scandoval gossip on live television.
1. In episode two, I mention that if given a last meal on death row, it would be an Aperol spritz.
2. In episode five, I casually reveal that Beau and I had a tryst in a ball pit following our daughter’s first birthday party.
3. In episode eight, I take part in a séance and query a spirit about their opinion of my attractiveness. The Ouija board indicates Yes.
4. In episode nine, I express concern that the spray tan I applied might seep into the wine I’m making from stomped grapes, potentially giving it an odd taste.
By the end, has she actually learned Italian?
What is Italian for “no”? Don’t ask Stassi.
