PlayStation recently held its first State of Play Japan event, highlighting games from Japanese and other Asian developers. The presentation was over 40 minutes long and featured 26 new announcements. While fans were hoping to hear about the next Final Fantasy VII Remake, there were still plenty of exciting reveals. This event took place just a few weeks before The Game Awards, a major gaming showcase, so many developers may be saving their biggest announcements for that event.

The event showcased popular titles like the new ‘Elden Ring’ DLC, Nightreign, and a closed beta for ‘Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls.’ Major companies including Square Enix, Capcom, Koei Tecmo, and Bandai Namco all had a significant presence. Beyond the big names, there were also announcements for interesting indie games, such as the unique puzzle platformer ‘MotionRec’ and the roguelite action platformer ‘Never Grave: The Witch and the Curse’ from Pocketpair Publishing.
