In 2022, Lindsay Lohan re-entered the acting world with Netflix’s holiday rom-com “Falling for Christmas,” leading fans worldwide to anticipate that she would keep offering fresh characters and possibly reprise old roles as well. As we move further into the 2025 movie lineup, approaching the premiere of “Freakier Friday” (a sequel featuring her co-star Jamie Lee Curtis from “Freaky Friday”), Lohan has been discussing her return to the field that catapulted her to fame while promoting this upcoming project. Now, Lohan is sharing her thoughts on beauty standards in Hollywood.
What Did Lindsay Lohan Say About Hollywood Beauty Standards?
Despite Lindsay Lohan acknowledging feelings of jealousy towards today’s rising stars, she might still affirm that the Hollywood beauty norm hasn’t significantly shifted over time. It’s widely expected for individuals, particularly women in show business, to maintain a youthful, slim, and stylish appearance off-screen, which has sparked numerous criticisms about how actresses like Selena Gomez, Kelly Clarkson, and numerous others are judged based on their looks.
During an interview with Chloe Fineman, star of Saturday Night Live and actress in Freakier Friday, for Elle Magazine, the conversation delved into beauty standards. Notably, Fineman mentioned that she’s developing a line of beauty products, similar to Gomez, whose Rare Beauty brand has made her a billionaire. This revelation sparked the following brief dialogue:
In an interview for Elle Magazine with Chloe Fineman, star of Saturday Night Live and actress in Freakier Friday, the discussion veered towards beauty standards. Fineman then mentioned that she’s creating a line of beauty products, much like Gomez, whose Rare Beauty has made her a billionaire. This news led to the following short exchange:
- Lohan: Everyone does Botox.
- Fineman: Last night at dinner, I was with somebody, and they’re like, ‘I’ve never had it.’And I was like, ‘What? Are you kidding?’
- Lohan: Who are you? It’s like, ‘You lie.’
Many people, not just those under constant public gaze, have tried Botox. It’s common for individuals to wish to avoid visible signs of aging or wrinkles, even though we all will eventually age. However, I didn’t realize that resisting the Botox trend in Hollywood would be such a challenge, as it seems almost everyone in the industry has given it a try at least once to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.
Stars are now openly addressing unrealistic beauty norms, with Jamie Lee Curtis, an Oscar-winning actress, being among them. In 2023, following singer Karol G’s criticism of her heavily edited GQ cover, Curtis expressed concerns about such practices, stating they make all women feel inadequate and self-conscious. Other celebrities have echoed these sentiments recently, such as Florence Pugh highlighting the harsh scrutiny of female bodies, Halle Berry advocating for challenging outdated stereotypes about older women, and Demi Moore emphasizing the joys of aging.
Regarding the beauty brand that Lindsay Lohan is creating, Fineman inquired further about her personal methods for maintaining good health and skin care. When Lohan confessed her obsession with both her skin and health, she elaborated by saying:
Gosh, that’s quite a question! To answer it, let me share my daily routine. Every morning, I drink a special juice made of carrot, ginger, lemon, olive oil, apple. I also consume lots of green tea and water, and I love pickled beets so much that I often add them to my meals. My skincare is quite specific – I’m currently trying out some serums and testing their effects. I also follow the practice of splashing ice-cold water on my face when I wake up. Throughout the day, I drink plenty of lemon juice and infuse my water with chia seeds. In terms of beauty treatments, I use eye patches every morning and am exploring laser treatments as well.
To be frank, everything you’ve mentioned sounds acceptable to me except for the lasers. While they can address various skin issues such as acne and wrinkles, I guess I’ll have to embrace the role of an old wise woman eventually if that’s the price for staying youthful. And surprisingly, I’m okay with that. Maybe it will finally discourage the local children from frequenting my yard once they catch a glimpse of me.
