Every Squid Game Contestant Killed By Player 333 Ranked

Spoilers ahead for Squid Game season 3!

In the Squid Game series, Lee Myung-gi, also recognized as Player 333 (portrayed by Im Si-Wan), became a significant figure during seasons 2 and 3. However, his journey required him to make some tough choices in order to reach the final game and survive.

In 2024, Hwang Dong-Hyuk’s South Korean drama made a comeback for its second season. This time around, viewers were introduced to Player 333 and an entirely fresh set of contestants engaged in lethal contests to secure a life-altering fortune. The series brought back Lee Jung-Jae as Gi-Hun, who aims to bring an end to the games and demonstrate that humanity can rise above such adversity.

Prior to participating in the games, Myung-gi was a cryptocurrency trader who found himself on the run following accusations of promoting a fraudulent coin. This notoriety came after he deserted his partner, Kim Jun-hee (Jo Yu-ri). In the games, Myung-gi seeks to settle his outstanding debts, but unexpectedly crosses paths with Jun-hee once more and discovers that she is carrying his child.

Upon discovering these disclosures, Myung-gi revises his objectives from striving for the monetary prize. Instead, he decides to participate in order to guarantee that Jun-hee and their upcoming child can enjoy a comfortable life post-Games. However, due to the looming shadows of misfortune, he is compelled to make difficult decisions.

9. Kim Young-mi

Player 95

Kim Young-mi (Kim Si-eun) can be described as the first player whose accident, tripping just before a door in the penultimate round of “Mingle”, Myung-gi may bear some responsibility for, since Hyun-Ju (Park Sung-hoon) tried to prevent her fall.

In the scenario, Myung-gi denies rescue for her, sealing the door behind her, ultimately resulting in her being harmed by gunfire. However, it is crucial to note that while Myung-gi played a part in this tragic outcome, he did not personally pull the trigger; rather, he was just following the rules of the game like any other player would have done.

8. Park Hee-young & “Doll Eyes”

Player 235 & Player 411

In the transition to the game “Hide-and-Seek,” Myung-gi found himself playing a more active part in determining outcomes, since the game set up a competition between blue and red teams, with the red team pursuing and eliminating players from the blue team.

In the heat of the cinematic action, I found myself working alongside Nam-gyu (Roh Jae-won), swiftly taking down Park Hee-young (Park Jae-chul) and Player 411 (Han Sang-chul). We ensured these blue team members met their ends as painlessly as possible in this situation. It wasn’t just me, Myung-gi; Nam-gyu was right there with me, sharing the responsibilities.

7. Unknown Blue Team Player

Player 447

Later in the same match, a shift in Myung-gi’s tactics became apparent when he crossed paths with Player 447 (Choi Byeong-rok). In previous parts of the game, Myung-gi had merely dispatched opponents, but this time, he opted to deliver brutal chest stabs. This act of violence suggests Myung-gi’s slide into villainy, as his desperation to survive grows, leading him to resort to increasingly ruthless actions.

6. Lee Seung-won

Player 336

During the culmination of the competitions, when they reached the Sky Squid game, Myung-gi’s strategic and thoughtful nature emerged. He skillfully maneuvered through the game with the aim of keeping his daughter and Gi-hun alive at its outset.

To accomplish this, he grabs a pole from the platform’s center, using it to eliminate multiple opponents who were trying to end Gi-hun and the baby’s lives, including Lee Seung-won (Park Jin-woo). This unexpected confrontation left Seung-won in shock, leading to his fatal fall.

5. Kim Yun-tae

Player 353

In the revelation of his true intentions, our protagonist found himself at odds with contestants Im Jeong-dae (Song Young-chang) and Kim Yun-tae (Lee Kyu-hoi). Despite ending up in a similar predicament as Seung-won, he put up a much stronger resistance, leading Myung-gi to escalate the confrontation. In their struggle over a support beam, Myung-gi ultimately sent our hero tumbling off the edge.

In comparison to Seung-won’s execution, Yun-tae’s demise was significantly more ruthless, as I was forced to inflict a brutal breakdown upon him prior to forcing him to meet his end.

4. Im Jeong-dae

Player 100

In the “Sky Squid game,” Jeong-dae’s surrender from the fight, instead of continuing in a treacherous manner like the previous two competitors, is notable. When cornered by Gi-hun, he chose to yield, proposing to end the games with a 1.4 million bribe and a vote along with them.

Instead, it becomes clear that Myung-gi values increasing his share of the winnings above all else, even if it means taking his fellow player’s life, as he pushes him to a tragic end. However, Jeong-dae’s death is harsh because there was an alternative path, but Myung-gi yielded to greed and made a drastic shift in priorities.

3. Park Min-su

Player 125

In the thrilling series “Sky Squid game,” it was Myung-gi’s initial kill that proved most devastating, sealing Park Min-su’s (Lee David) fate. Prior to engaging in the final round, there was a palpable rapport between them, as Myung-gi bravely challenged Thanos (T.O.P) and his associates when they tried to bully him.

In this scenario, once Myung-gi manages to eliminate Thanos, he is freed from their mutual oppressor. Nevertheless, during the ultimate confrontation, Myung-gi sets his focus on Min-su, viewing him as an ideal fall guy. This move would provide him with a valuable distraction, allowing him, his child, and Gi-hun to think of a strategy for survival and reaching their goal’s end.

While Min-su’s death was unwanted by him, Myung-gi emphasized that Min-su’s drug withdrawal state made him a potential risk, eventually leading him to shove Min-su to his demise. The manner of Min-su’s death was cruel, as Myung-gi, despite expressing otherwise, exploited the vulnerabilities of their friendship.

2. Cho Hyun-ju

Player 120

In the climactic finale of “Hide and Seek”, Myung-gi’s deadliest act occurs when he ends the life of Cho Hyun-ju. At the game’s outset, Hyun-ju formed an alliance with Jun-Hee and Jang Geum-ja (Kang Ae-shil), which proved beneficial due to each possessing a key to enter any room.

Additionally, she aided in the birth of Myung-gi and Jun-hee’s baby amidst the crisis. Subsequently, she discovered an escape route that potentially could have ensured their survival, but Myung-gi prevented it from being used.

Instead of enduring a ruthless and violent assault similar to Player 477, Hyun-ju experiences a cruel betrayal when she attempts to save as many teammates as possible. Her demise is harsh not due to Myung-gi’s tactics, but because her intention was to protect life, rather than end it.

In a deeply unfortunate turn of events, it isn’t just Hyun-ju’s unexpected demise that shocks me, but the fact that she was selflessly attempting to protect Jun-hee and their child. This heartbreaking reality makes Myung-gi’s involvement all the more poignant.

1. Thanos

Player 230

Although Myung-gi amassed the most kills this season and claimed the top spot, his initial direct kill, which he refers to as ‘Thanos’, was not a new accomplishment for him. In fact, Thanos had a score to settle with Myung-gi due to their past encounter in the crypto world. Myung-gi’s infamy stemmed from his involvement in the “Dalmation” scam, one of the victims of which was none other than Thanos.

As a dedicated film enthusiast, I bore no regret over my involvement in Thanos’ distress, for I had always made it a point to issue him a fair warning in my video messages prior to the events unfolding.

During season 2, Thanos and another character frequently exchanged harsh words. However, tensions reached a boiling point in the dormitory bathrooms following an event called “Mingle”. When Thanos attempted to persuade Min-su to keep playing the game, Myung-gi stepped in, which resulted in a physical altercation. The conflict escalated further when the rapper ridiculed Jun-hee. In a desperate attempt to choke Myung-ni, Thanos was ultimately killed by her when she stabbed him with a fork in his throat.

In a surprising twist, Thanos’ demise isn’t immediate but prolonged; he doesn’t meet an instantaneous end, but rather experiences agony and bleeding. Even though Myung-gi’s regret and shock might label it as self-defense, the anticipation surrounding this event makes it particularly memorable in the second season of Squid Game. Among his numerous victims, Myung-ni’s first kill is the one that leaves the deepest impression.
