If you’ve been eagerly anticipating boss fights reminiscent of Guitar Hero, here’s some good news! The sequel to Everhood, a unique RPG that blends rhythm game elements and hints of Undertale, is set to launch on March 4, available for both PC and Nintendo Switch.
Initially unveiled in 2024, the upcoming installment unfolds a fresh narrative within the established cosmos. You’ll assume the role of a hero who is directed by an enigmatic entity residing across the river of oblivion. Your mission will be to challenge the Mind Dragon. To accomplish this, you’ll rejoin the action in rhythm-based combat, where you dodge and retaliate against musical notes on a Guitar Hero-style grid, appearing as a miniature character.
In the game, you’ll find more than a hundred tunes to choose from. Not every song is intended for battles, but they are all part of the experience. The developers at Foreign Gnomes predict that playing through the game will take approximately 8-10 hours. Additionally, combat mechanics are being updated, allowing players to enhance their weapons as well.
According to Chris Nordgren, one of the co-founders of Foreign Gnomes, in their sequel for Everhood, they aimed to enhance its unique and diverse features. “In this new version,” he explained in a press statement, “you can continue to battle against evil carrot magicians, time enforcers, lively slime creatures, and all the exciting elements while being serenaded by Electronic Psychedelic Power Rock. However, there’s a lot more to explore this time around.
The specifications needed for Everhood, as shown on its Steam page, are quite minimal. Interestingly, the initial release of Everhood surpassed 600,000 units in sales, as mentioned in a press release. Moreover, an expansion pack called the Eternity Edition DLC was launched, available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. This edition included custom tracks designed by the game’s community. Unfortunately, these community-created songs are not yet accessible in the PC or Switch versions of Everhood at this time.
