Europe’s Bitcoin Bonanza: 580 Coins Snatched in a Single Go! 🚀💰

Well, folks, it seems The Blockchain Group, Europe’s first Bitcoin Treasury company, has gone and done it again. They’ve scooped up a whopping 580 BTC in their latest shopping spree, making it their third and largest purchase to date. Now, their total stash stands at a cool 620 BTC. That’s enough Bitcoin to make a pirate blush. 🏴‍☠️

According to the official word, their Luxembourg subsidiary, Blockchain Group Luxembourg SA, shelled out a tidy sum of ~€47.30 million (or $51 million for those across the pond) for this digital gold. That’s nearly €81,550 per Bitcoin, paid for with the proceeds of a convertible bond issuance. Talk about putting your money where your mouth is! 💸

This isn’t their first rodeo, mind you. Back in November 2024, they dipped their toes in with 15 BTC at an average price of €63,729 per coin. Then, on December 4, 2024, they upped the ante with 25 BTC at €90,511 a pop. Now, with 620 BTC in their vault, valued at $54.25 million, they’re sitting pretty. 🤑

Alexandre Laizet, the Deputy CEO and Director of Bitcoin Strategy, recently took to X to sing Bitcoin’s praises. He declared, “If a company is not adding Bitcoin to its balance sheet, it is likely going to the ground as a stablecoin, and that is a future scenario for any company that does not acquire Bitcoin.” Bold words, indeed. 🎤

Laizet also boasted that The Blockchain Group’s BTC holdings have skyrocketed by 300% in the past six months, while the CAC40, France’s index of top 40 companies, has only managed a measly 7% increase. Ouch. 😬

As the crypto craze continues to sweep the globe, more companies are jumping on the Bitcoin bandwagon. At the time of writing, BTC is trading near $87,500, up nearly 25% in the past year. So, if you’re not holding Bitcoin, you might just be left in the digital dust. 🚀
