As a devoted fan who’s been following Euphoria since its inception, I must say it’s a rollercoaster of emotions. On one hand, I’m thrilled that we’re finally getting a new season after what feels like an eternity. But on the other, the thought of waiting till 2025 sends chills down my spine!

According to HBO/Max chief Casey Bloys, “Euphoria” Season 3 is set to move forward as planned. Previously, HBO had announced that production for Season 3 would start in January 2025, marking almost three years since the debut of Season 2. And, according to Bloys, this timeline remains unchanged.

He announced on Tuesday at an HBO/Max press conference that they’ve begun filming ‘Euphoria.’ He mentioned a tentative start date around mid to late January, but there have been no changes since then. The whole situation started due to some speculation online. They are indeed shooting the new season, and everyone involved is excited about it. I’ve read the scripts, and everything seems on track.

Lately, a few main actors have secured significant parts for other projects, which appear to collide with the previously stated “Euphoria” filming timeline.

It was just announced that Zendaya would be joining Christopher Nolan’s new film, which is believed to begin shooting in early 2025. Zendaya could also be reprising her role as MJ in “Spider-Man 4,” which is also shooting in 2025. Meanwhile, Jacob Elordi is going to star in Emerald Fennel’s take on “Wuthering Heights” with Margot Robbie, which will be shot in 2025 in the U.K.

Bloys noted that the series is currently receiving much acclaim as it’s produced several authentic film talents who have numerous ongoing ventures. However, he emphasized that they’re still working on this current season, meaning their approach remains unaltered. There will be eight episodes in total.

As a devoted cinephile, I can’t help but share my thoughts on the captivating ensemble of “Euphoria.” In this gripping drama, we have Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Storm Reid, Alexa Demie, and Eric Dane gracing our screens. Unfortunately, Angus Cloud, who truly shone in his portrayal of Fezco, passed away at just 25 years old in July 2023. It’s also worth mentioning that some cast members have hinted they won’t be reprising their roles for the next season, like Barbie Ferreira.

According to earlier reports by EbMaster, creator Sam Levinson had proposed ideas for the third season of the show to HBO in late 2023 and early 2024. These concepts included a five-year time leap and possible storylines for Rue (Zendaya), such as her taking up work as a private detective. However, HBO decided to momentarily halt production on the series until it could align creatively with the first two seasons.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but marvel at the extraordinary success of “Euphoria” on HBO. This series has not only garnered outstanding reviews but has also proven to be a formidable force in the awards circuit. To date, it has amassed an impressive 25 Emmy nominations and taken home nine prestigious awards. Among these accolades, Zendaya shone brightly with her two Emmys for Best Actress in a Drama Series, while Colman Domingo also made his mark with a win for Best Guest Actor in a Drama. To top it all off, Sam Levinson was honored with a DGA award for his exceptional work on the Season 2 episode “Stand Still Like the Hummingbird.” Truly, “Euphoria” has left an indelible mark in the world of television.

Zendaya serves as an executive producer alongside “Euphoria,” and Levinson holds both the role of executive producer and director. Additionally, Ravi Nandan, Drake, Adel “Future” Nur, Will Greenfield, Ashley Levison, Ron Leshem, Daphna Levin, Hadas Mozes Lichtenstein, and a late colleague named Kevin Turen (who passed away at 44 in November 2023) also take on the executive producer role.
