Eugene and Dan Levy Officially Set as Emmys Hosts

As a fervent admirer of the world of television, I can’t help but be utterly captivated by the extraordinary journey of Eugene Levy and his talented offspring, Dan Levy. Their story is nothing short of inspiring, a testament to their unparalleled comedic genius and the power of family bonds.

In just under a month, we’ll witness the 76th Emmy Awards, and finally, the hosts have been decided! As anticipated, the charming duo of Eugene Levy and his son Dan Levy will be your guides for this year’s ceremony, which is scheduled for live broadcast on ABC on Sunday, September 15.

2020 was a groundbreaking year for me, as I had the privilege of witnessing father and son, Eugene Levy and Dan Levy, make history by winning major awards in the same year. This extraordinary feat was accomplished through their work on “Schitt’s Creek.”

“Two Canadians, our previous Emmy winners who had won their awards while quarantining in a tent, were excited at the prospect of hosting this year’s event in a real theater. They are eager to celebrate this exceptional television season and look forward to spending the evening with everyone on September 15.”

As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that Eugene Levy and Dan Levy are making history as the first father-son duo to grace the Emmys stage as hosts! It’s been quite a while since we’ve seen a pair like them; they last shared this role with Colin Jost and Michael Che back in 2018. In fact, they’re only the second twosome to take on this prestigious role during this century.

“Craig Erwich, president of Disney Television Group, noted that Eugene’s and Dan’s knack for comedy and unique talent to win over audiences promises a captivating Emmys broadcast celebrating this year’s outstanding talents,” is one way to paraphrase the given sentence in natural and easy-to-read language.

Having spent over four decades in the entertainment industry, I can confidently say that this year has been particularly exciting for me. With my Apple TV+ series “The Reluctant Traveler With Eugene Levy” being nominated for outstanding hosted nonfiction series or special, it truly feels like a testament to the hard work and dedication I’ve put into my craft over the years. This recognition is not only a personal achievement but also a validation of the unique perspective I bring to storytelling through travel. As someone who has had the privilege of exploring various cultures and meeting incredible people throughout my career, it is an honor to share these experiences with audiences in a meaningful way. I eagerly anticipate what the future holds for this series and hope that it continues to inspire others to embrace the wonders of travel and the richness of human connection.

“Cris Abrego, TV Academy chair, expressed excitement about having two comedy legends from different generations grace the Emmy’s stage as hosts. Eugene and Dan Levy are renowned for their side-splitting humor on screen, and their combined talents promise a powerfully funny performance. Emmy fans are eagerly anticipating the unique comedy magic they’re cooking up!”

Eugene Levy and Dan Levy are set to collaborate extensively with Emmy producers Jesse Collins, Dionne Harmon, and Jeannae Rouzan-Clay from Jesse Collins Entertainment, who received praise in January for overseeing the previous Emmy ceremony, which was hosted by Anthony Anderson.

As a passionate film buff, I’m thrilled to express my excitement about Eugene and Dan Levy gracing our screens as the hosts for television’s grandest event. These two have breathed life into some of the most unforgettable characters in recent TV history, making them an ideal choice for this prestigious role. I can hardly wait to see what magical moments they will create together, ensuring an experience that will leave us all in awe!

On Thursdays, Jesse Collins Entertainment’s crew unveiled their production team lineup for the 76th Emmy Awards (with Alex Rudzinski returning as director, a position he previously held).

For the upcoming telecast, the team responsible for the successful 75th Emmy Awards on Fox in January returns. This includes Brittany Brazil serving as co-executive producer, Taryn Hurd as producer, Brian Stonestreet as production designer, and Jon Macks as head writer. Rickey Minor, a previous Emmy Award winner, will once again take on the role of music director for his sixth time, while Noah Mitz and Drew Findley return as lighting designer and screens producer respectively. Eric Cook has been brought on board to join the team as co-executive producer.

Apart from his popular role in “Schitt’s Creek,” Eugene Levy is also widely recognized for his work in “SCTV,” the “American Pie” series, and films like “Bringing Down the House,” “Cheaper by the Dozen 2,” and “Father of the Bride Part II.” Upcoming, you can catch him in the new season of Hulu’s show “Only Murders in the Building.”

Dan Levy serves as the creative force behind several projects, including Max’s show “The Big Brunch” and his directorial ventures such as “Good Grief.” He is working on a documentary titled “Lilith Fair,” and has recently appeared in the final season of HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” Season 4 of Netflix’s “Sex Education,” the remake of Disney’s “Haunted Mansion,” and the holiday rom-com “Happiest Season” on Hulu. Upcoming projects include Paramount’s animated film “The Smurfs Movie,” “Animal Friends,” and Kornel Mundruczó’s drama “At the Sea.”

Eugene Levy is represented by United Talent Agency (UTA), Hunter Brand Management, and the firm Yorn, Levine, and Barnes; on the other hand, Dan Levy is represented by William Morris Endeavor (WME), MGMT Entertainment, and Morris Yorn agency.

On Sunday, September 15th (8 p.m. Eastern Time/5 p.m. Pacific Time), the Emmy Awards will be broadcast live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California, on ABC. The following day, it will also be streamed on Hulu.
