But it wasn’t a crime scene; it was art.

Artist’s disturbing teddy bear goes viral after police investigation

Robert Kelly, a South Carolina-based artist and proprietor of DarkSeed Creations, came forward to disclose that the ominous bear he had showcased was in fact one of his own macabre art pieces. Known for his horror-themed artwork, particularly disturbing teddy bears designed to resemble they’re made from human skin, Kelly is the creator behind this chilling work.

Approximately an hour ago, I discovered that one of my ‘skin bears’ was utilized in a prank at a bus station in Victorville, CA, as shared on a local news article. I’ve been overwhelmed with messages and my phone battery is draining trying to respond to everyone.

Last week, Kelly verified that he had indeed sold a bear via his Etsy shop, which was subsequently delivered to a client residing in Victorville.

Indeed, I’m the one who created the bear featured in the news clip. You can see my Etsy shop in those news articles as well,” he clarified. “However, I must stress that I had no idea about the buyer’s plans and I wasn’t part of any prank taking place on the other side of the country from where I am.

Even though Kelly’s creations appear incredibly lifelike, it is important to note that none of them are made using real human matter. In his Etsy shop, DarkSeedCreations, you can find a diverse selection of eerie collectibles, ranging from bears and caps to horror masks, all fashioned with artificial materials.

Despite the alarming nature of the incident, it unexpectedly brought about a significant surge in business for Kelly due to the viral misunderstanding.

He’s making an effort to respond to all the messages and stay focused, but he also has other tasks that need his attention.

At present, the person behind the practical joke of leaving a bear at the gas station has yet to be identified. However, Kelly’s eerie inventions continue to sell rapidly online.
