Reports suggest that some individuals, trying to resell Pokemon cards, were found waiting outside stores to acquire them, disregarding terrible weather conditions, including a thunderstorm alert.
Enjoying the pastime of Pokémon card collecting was originally intended as a fun and budget-friendly activity for fans across various age groups. However, due to resellers aggressively buying up stocks almost instantaneously, many have found this hobby less enjoyable in recent times.
Over the years, we’ve witnessed some astonishing events related to this topic that border on the unbelievable. If a brawl caused by a vending machine line isn’t remarkable enough, there are individuals who have gone to extreme lengths – even tracking an employee from store to store in pursuit of reload cards.
After the unveiling of the Prismatic Evolutions Super-Premium Collection, it’s evident that matters have escalated further. Initially reported by Polygon, some individuals appear determined to maintain their position in line, potentially risking their safety, instead of heeding a tornado warning.
Pokemon scalpers go out of their way to camp in the middle of “awful” weather
In a Reddit discussion, a user shared their disappointing story about trying to obtain the latest Prismatic Super Premium Set. They detailed their attempt as, “I chose to patiently wait until the new Prismatic set was launched for a late-night release.
Even though they had intended to proceed, their plans encountered some turbulence. The forecast predicted terrible weather for the evening, not just any ordinary rain, but a “awful” one. To make matters worse, they announced a “tornado warning,” and storms were expected to last until approximately 2:30 AM, with thunderstorms included in that.

To their astonishment, upon arrival at 3 AM, they found two individuals had already set up a campsite within the store.
After talking to them, it became clear that these individuals had apparently been there since the previous day, a fact that undeniably surprises given the current weather conditions.
In the end, they ended up feeling disappointed as these individuals replied, “Regrettably, everything is ours; you can’t have any,” while their car was filled with Pokémon merchandise, specifically a Charizard Ultra Premium Collection.
Lmao people been camping since 2 days lmao

This is just one example of the numerous tricks scalpers have been up to recently. Meanwhile, another user posted a photo showing a specific GameStop store packed with people, hoping to buy their items.
It’s evident that such individuals show no signs of relenting or giving opportunities to others, as they are prepared to take drastic measures in their pursuit of profiting swiftly from Pokemon cards.
