It’s hard to believe, but it seems that FBI: Most Wanted is about to bid us farewell in the 2025 TV lineup. The drama was terminated as early as March, providing the creators with ample time to prepare a satisfying conclusion. However, not every show manages to tie up loose ends before the final scene. Fortunately, TopMob got the opportunity to ask some questions about the finale to showrunner David Hudgins. In the penultimate episode, Remy made a significant decision, leaving Barnes’ future unclear.

The final episode of “FBI: Most Wanted” titled “The Circle Game” is set to air on Tuesday, May 20th at 10 p.m. ET (or can be streamed the following day with a Paramount+ subscription). In this concluding prime-time adventure for the task force, they’ll pursue a renegade government operative group orchestrating a domestic terror attack. This grand finale promises high stakes, but also leaves room for wrapping up individual character stories.

As I inquired from the showrunner, I couldn’t help but wonder if this upcoming episode would follow the familiar pattern of a season finale or serve as a series finale, wrapping up all the lingering plot threads. David Hudgins, ever the gracious responder, shared his insights:

“Well, it won’t be just another season finale – it’s more than that. This time, we’re tying up loose ends and bringing the story to a satisfying conclusion.”

In simpler terms, I was curious if the upcoming episode would end the season or the series, leaving no plot points unresolved. David Hudgins confirmed that it will indeed be an ending worthy of a standing ovation!

It is definitely a series finale and yes – expect closure.

It seems this conclusion won’t involve a tense cliffhanger with bombs or lives at risk to frustrate viewers! The specifics of the ending are yet unknown, but if it’s more uplifting than how FBI: Most Wanted left off Jess’ storyline, I imagine fans will be satisfied.

For several episodes leading up to the final one, Barnes was the one considering her future within the task force. She had the prospect of an office job in D.C., closer to her children. Although she hadn’t definitively decided by the end of the second-last episode, Remy seemed to be reconsidering his path after their discussions, ending that episode with him phoning FBI’s Isobel (who is facing a nerve-wracking finale) to arrange a face-to-face meeting.

The episode ended without explicitly disclosing the topic of Remy’s intended conversation, yet it was evident that he might be pondering his association with the task force. Fans won’t be left guessing about the outcome of this discussion, as David Hudgins explained that Remy’s decision was heavily influenced by Barnes’ potential departure.

A significant factor influenced his decision. Leaving seemed appropriate at that moment since he believed the task force was in capable hands.

In essence, it appears that the conclusion won’t be catastrophic for all the characters involved, even though it seems to mark an end rather than a setup for “CIA” as Hudgins’ next project following “Most Wanted,” or an unexpected backdoor pilot. As he put it about the series finale:

Life goes on – for the task force and the characters in the show.

As a passionate movie critic, I eagerly anticipate the finale of the “Most Wanted” spin-off from the original FBI series. Written by David Hudgins, who co-penned the conclusion, and the rest of the talented team behind it, the ending will undoubtedly be a thrilling ride for fans. The latest promo hints at an exhilarating last case that promises to leave us all on the edge of our seats. Can’t wait!

Join me in tuning into CBS on Tuesday, May 20th at 10 p.m. ET for the climactic finale of FBI: Most Wanted. Preceding it, catch the series finale of FBI: International at 9 p.m. ET and the Season 7 finale of FBI at 8 p.m. ET. With Isobel still on board after her recent significant decision this spring, it seems that all hands are needed for these shows, as they appear to be gearing up for some intense episodes!
