‘Equalizer,’ ‘The Neighborhood’ Spinoffs Not Moving Forward at CBS

According to EbMaster, CBS will not proceed with the creation of spin-offs for “The Equalizer” and “The Neighborhood.

The “Equalizer” spinoff features Titus Welliver and Juani Feliz, who made an appearance on the April 20th episode of the original show. Welliver portrays Hudson Reed, a character who was once a top CIA operative with a hidden past, linked to Robyn McCall (Queen Latifah) through an old mentor. Feliz embodies Samantha Reed, a weapons expert and martial artist trained by her father, skilled in disguise while concealing a shrouded history.

The spinoff of “The Neighborhood” would’ve featured Marcel Spears and Sheaun McKinney departing from the established CBS sitcom, where they played characters Marty and Malcolm Butler, and settling in Venice Beach instead.

The TV show ‘The Equalizer’ is still hopeful about getting a sixth season, whereas ‘The Neighborhood’ has already been confirmed for its eighth and final season by the network.

Furthermore, it’s unfortunate that the comedy pilot “Zarna,” produced by comedian Zarna Garg, won’t proceed at CBS, and the comedy series “Poppa’s House” has been terminated after completing its first season.

The latest update is that CBS has previously secured several shows for the 2025-2026 season. Today, the broadcast network officially greenlit a new installment in the “FBI” series featuring Tom Ellis, and also picked up the drama pilot “Einstein,” starring Matthew Gray Gubler, as well as the comedy pilot “DMV.” Additionally, CBS has already commissioned the spinoff of “Fire Country,” titled “Sheriff Country,” and another spinoff of “Blue Bloods” called “Boston Blue.
