Epsilon Boards Animated Feature ‘Dreamers – The Hunt for Shadowclaw’ (EXCLUSIVE)

3D CGI animated movie “Dreamers – The Hunt for Shadowclaw” has been taken on by Epsilon Films as both co-producer and global sales representative. At the upcoming Cannes Film Market, Epsilon will start pre-sales of this family adventure, showcasing a sneak peek of an early scene from the movie.

In this tale, I find myself part of an extraordinary threesome. First, there’s Lenny, a spirited German shepherd dog who didn’t make it through the K9 test due to his strong-willed nature rather than any physical limitations, and he winds up in the circus. Accompanying him is Fred, an Indian Runner Duck with autism, who uses his beak to produce unique beats, and Bearnice, a brown bear diagnosed with Down Syndrome, who absolutely adores dancing for large audiences at the circus. We band together to accomplish the seemingly impossible: rescuing Shadowclaw, the enigmatic circus panther, in the bustling heart of New York City. As we face our challenges, we learn to transform our disparities into strengths, conquer our apprehensions, and save Shadowclaw before she’s captured by the official K9 team and sent to a life behind bars forever.

This German-Canadian collaboration is spearheaded by Ulrich Schwarz (known for “Dragon Rider,” “Nessie Junior,” and “Stowaway”), Andreas Schneider’s Parapictures Film Production (“Gold”), Thomas Baumgarten, and Arno Hazebroek’s Falcon Features (responsible for “500 Miles” and “Hope Gap”). Epsilon Film will join forces as a co-producer and manage international distribution.

The task of animating this project is entrusted to Kickstart Entertainment, a studio boasting more than two decades of experience in creating over 20 feature films and around 750 series episodes. Their portfolio includes work on “Barbie Mysteries” for Netflix/Mattel and “The Boys” for Amazon.

In this project, Heiko Hentschel (known for “The Amazing Maurice,” among others) takes on character design, while the script is penned by Rob Moreland (“Gnome Alone” and “Space Chimps”) and Alison James, a renowned children’s book writer who has received awards for her work.

The production is about to start, and it’s expected that “Dreamers – The Hunt for Shadowclaw” will be available by the time of the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.

Ulrich Schwarz, the producer, along with Andreas Schneider, creator/producer, stated: ” ‘Dreamers’ is a story that encourages accepting and appreciating those who are unique, as well as embracing one’s own uniqueness. This tale, skillfully narrated and vividly animated, aims to sow the seeds of acceptance, expanding the spectrum of what children perceive as ordinary, competent, even worthy of admiration. Our characters, animals with extraordinary superpowers, become more awe-inspiring due to their challenges. They are quirky, lovable, and highly relatable, leading us on an inspiring, action-packed journey.

Julia Weber from Epsilon Film stated that this movie inspires viewers of every age to celebrate their distinctive abilities, conquer obstacles, and have faith in the seemingly unattainable.

The film’s production is supported by the German regional film funding body MOIN, the national film fund FFA from Germany, as well as Creative BC in Canada.
