The search for the next James Bond continues fiercely, with a fresh favorite making waves. Joining the ranks of contenders such as Theo James from The Gentlemen, Henry Cavill, Jack Lowden from Slow Horses, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson from Kraven the Hunter, the star of Enola Holmes and Pistol has seen his chances increase significantly. With whispers of a more youthful 007 in the upcoming reboot, this individual is gaining attention.
Known primarily for his roles in the Netflix’s “Enola Holmes” series where he plays Viscount Tewkesbury and will reprise his role in the currently filming “Enola Holmes 3”, as well as for his portrayal of punk rock icon Sid Vicious in the TV show “Pistol”, Louis Partridge, at only 21 years old, has been placed at odds of 11/2 by Paddy Power.
Apart from his age, experience, and relatively unknown status benefiting him, Partridge has also played a younger version of another popular James Bond character, Henry Cavill. In fact, they both portrayed the title character in last year’s “Argylle.” Given that Cavill might have outgrown the 007 role, could an Amazon reboot consider a newer, fresher face instead?

As we wait for further formal updates regarding James Bond’s future, numerous speculations are emerging. One intriguing theory suggests that the character will embark on lighter escapades filled with wit and gadgets, moving away from the somber and intense world of Daniel Craig’s portrayal. Additionally, whispers have hinted at a shift in focus towards a younger iteration of the character, deviating from the familiar age group seen during Craig’s tenure, and setting the stage for a more nostalgic atmosphere.
Various contenders have arisen as potential candidates for the prestigious James Bond role. Among them are Tom Holland, who is known for his roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Spider-Man, as well as Leo Woodall from The White Lotus, Citadel, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, Connor Swindell starring in Barbie and SAS Rogue Heroes, Hero Fiennes Tiffin of The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, Kit Connor from Heartstopper, Paul Mescal, the lead actor of Gladiator II, and Jacob Elordi who has appeared in Euphoria and Saltburn.
Despite not getting the role of James Bond back in 2006, Henry Cavill is still considered a strong contender to wear the iconic tuxedo by one expert. Mark O’Connell, a historian of James Bond, suggests that Cavill’s previous near miss might work in his favor this time, as it would continue a tradition within the 007 series. According to O’Connell, “In Bond films, the runner-up is often favored for the role the next time around.” He further explained this idea in a chat with the New York Post, citing Roger Moore and Timothy Dalton as examples of actors who were considered for earlier roles but eventually took on the character in later films.
