‘Emily in Paris’ Renewed for Season 5 at Netflix

As a seasoned movie critic with a penchant for witty observations, allow me to share my thoughts on the renewal of “Emily in Paris” for a fifth season. Having traversed the cinematic landscape from the glamourous streets of Hollywood to the quaint cobblestone alleys of Paris, I must say that this light-hearted comedy series has managed to captivate audiences worldwide with its irresistible charm and delightful escapism.

Looks like Emily’s visa has been extended.

As a devoted Netflix enthusiast, I couldn’t help but share some exciting news! Just when I thought my love affair with “Emily in Paris” was coming to an end, Netflix decided to renew the series for a fifth season, hot off the heels of Season 4 Part 2’s debut on Sept. 12. So, here’s to many more adventures in the City of Lights!

In a video, the streamer unveiled some exciting news featuring actress Lily Collins sipping coffee from an espresso mug while enjoying a scenic Italian balcony view. “There’s no place like Rome,” Collins said, giving a glimpse of the number 5 on her cup’s bottom.

Starting a new life in Italy instead of France, the fourth season of the light-hearted comedy “Emily in Paris” was launched at the top position on Netflix’s Global Top 10. With an impressive 19.9 million views within its first four days, according to Netflix, it has held that spot for four consecutive weeks now.

In the latest season of “Emily in Paris,” Emily finds herself torn between romantic feelings towards two men, Gabriel and Alfie. However, as old habits collide with fresh predicaments, Emily is pulled towards a potential new love interest while navigating unfamiliar territory – a new city. The concluding episodes of Season 4 see Emily jetting off to the stylish European metropolis, Rome, to spend time with her new admirer, Marcello Muratori, an alluring Italian gentleman she encountered on ski slopes during Christmas in the French Alps. Interestingly, business and love intertwine in “Emily in Paris,” as it is revealed that Marcello manages a family-owned cashmere company, which happens to be a prime target for Emily’s boss, Sylvie, to secure as new clients for their marketing firm, Agence Grateau.

In addition to Lily James, the show ‘Emily in Paris’ features Ashley Park, Camille Razat, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, and William Abadie. The fourth season introduces Thalia Besson, Luc Besson’s daughter, as Sylvie’s stepdaughter, Genevieve – a New Yorker who joins Agence Grateau and soon becomes Emily’s rival.

The series is developed by Darren Star, with Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, Andrew Fleming, Alison Brown, and Robin Schiff serving as executive producers. Stephen Brown, Grant Sloss, and Joe Murphy are co-executive producers, while Collins, Ryan McCormick, Raphaël Benoliel, and Jake Fuller also produce. The show originates from MTV Entertainment Studios, Darren Star Productions, and Jax Media.
