Ellen Pompeo Says She Won’t Let Her Daughter Watch ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Because She Is ‘Not Ready’ to See ‘Me in My Underwear on Television’

Ellen Pompeo has spent more than 20 years as Meredith Grey on “Grey’s Anatomy,” but she’s not quite ready to let her kid watch the series.

During an interview on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to publicize her latest true crime series “Good American Family,” Pompeo admitted that while her eldest child has watched “Grey’s Anatomy,” she hesitates to allow her younger daughter to view the long-running hospital drama.

Pompeo mentioned on Kimmel’s show that his 15-year-old child has watched something, and now his 10-year-old is eager to see it. However, he feels she’s not yet prepared, but many kids in her class have already seen it.

Pompeo stated, “Hollywood is peculiar in its own unique way, yet it’s also an amazing place because these young people observe many individuals whose aspirations were fulfilled. They have faith that their dreams, too, can become a reality.”

Pompeo noted that Hollywood possesses a special charm and oddity, but at the same time, it’s incredibly inspiring because young people see lots of people who made their dreams come true. They think that their own dreams can become a reality as well.

Pompeo, who began starring in “Grey’s Anatomy” in 2005, has three children with her husband Chris Ivery, a record producer. Although her character, Dr. Meredith Grey, hasn’t been a series regular since Pompeo stepped back from the show in Season 19, she still continues to narrate and executive produce the series.

In “Good American Family,” Pompeo plays the role of Kristine Bennett alongside Mark Duplass as Michael Bennett. They are the adoptive parents of Natalia Grace. The show, titled “Good American Family,” will make its debut on March 19th on Hulu.
