In an online update, The Elder Scrolls 6 has reached a significant milestone, however, this is undeniably the longest wait that ardent supporters have endured.

On November 11, 2011, Skyrim was launched. This acclaimed game set a new standard in open-world gaming, with Bethesda receiving numerous accolades for their successful sequel, leaving players excited about future releases.

Instead of keeping quiet until detailed strategies were set up, Bethesda shocked the gaming world by unveiling their plans prematurely. The announcement for Elder Scrolls 6 came on June 10, 2018.

2,403 days have passed since Skyrim went on sale, and now, as of January 7, 2025, it’s been the same number of days since the Elder Scrolls 6 was unveiled, as one Reddit user initially suggested.

Indeed, it’s been approximately equal time since the unveiling of the sixth installment and the release of the fifth game. As we approach the seventh year mark, there’s curiosity about when Bethesda might share updates on the eagerly awaited sequel.

When will we see Elder Scrolls 6 again?

Considering the extended period that has passed since the unveiling of The Elder Scrolls 6, which is significantly longer than usual for Bethesda game announcements, fans are eagerly speculating about when they might receive updates on the next installment in the series.

Over the past few years, I’ve been thoroughly engrossed in the world of game development. A significant portion of my time has been dedicated to Starfield, our studio’s first new intellectual property in a quarter of a century. The initial stages of development kicked off just after the launch of Fallout 4 at the end of 2015, and full-scale production continued until its anticipated release in 2023.

Although the game has been released, there are still some ongoing developments. Additional content (DLC) and major upgrades are being created to enhance the overall gaming experience. Additionally, whispers suggest that a version for PlayStation 5 is also being developed.

Additionally, Todd Howard has found himself occupied with his duties as an executive producer, not only for the Fallout TV show which is currently in production for its second season, but also for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, a project that was recently unveiled.

Hey there fellow gamers! As much as I’d love to dive back into the world of Elder Scrolls, it looks like we might need to exercise a bit more patience. With most of the studio working tirelessly on Starfield and Bethesda Game Studios’ creative director busy with other projects, it seems that the next chapter in the Elder Scrolls saga could be quite a ways off. So let’s keep our swords sharp and our spells ready while we wait for this epic adventure to unfold!
