Elden Ring Nightreign’s Deep of Night is nigh, so here’s a big patch with more balancing tweaks than a tightrope walker

Have you got batteries for your flashlight handy? Great news! The update for Elden Ring: Nightreign’s Deep of the Night is set to release at the early hours of tomorrow, September 11th. There’s a significant balance adjustment in the upcoming patch that we’ll need to analyze before its arrival.

I’ve already gone through the notes and I must admit, I’m both surprised and perhaps a little worried might be more accurate. It’s peculiar because the term ‘increased’ is used frequently when discussing actions that can harm an opponent. That seems suspicious. So, could you clarify what your plans are for causing trouble again once Deep of the Night is released at 2:30AM BST, FromSoft?

ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN | Deep of Night Overview Trailer

We can begin by examining changes in version 1.02.2 for all Nightfarer classes excluding Ironeye, presumably because he’s already flawless. Wylder now has additional stability while firing claw shot, causing more stamina damage to blocking opponents. The growth of strength and agility that Guardian accumulates as they level up has been increased, along with the range of their steel guard passive.

The Duchess’ skill level-up now boosts her agility, making some of her dagger strikes stronger and increasing the duration of her final ultimate move. However, there’s a trade-off as the damage on the second heavy attack with her two-handed dagger has been reduced. The effectiveness of the Raider’s greataxe and great hammer, Recluse’s Magic Cocktail spells, and Executor’s cursed sword attacks have all been improved. Additionally, you can now directly pass through the spirits, Helen and Frederick, summoned by Revenant. I’m unsure if this last change is considered a buff or a nerf, so let’s refer to it as an unusual trait instead.

Furthermore, the extra damage caused by jumping attacks with dual wielded weapons has been increased universally for smaller and mid-sized guns, but decreased for larger ones.

Transitioning to the eternal rulers of the dark realm, it’s the resilient Equilibrious Beast that has seen the majority of updates. We’ve identified a problem where certain banished Nightfarers called during this battle might not appear under specific circumstances. FromSoftware also acknowledges this issue with the boss and plans to rectify it in future updates. Additionally, Sentient Pest and Darkdrift Knight seem to have received a slight boost in power.

After defeating the second night boss, The Ebb of Night will deal increased damage as well. A significant change for players to be aware of is that FromSoft has enhanced Nightreign’s stability “in certain areas,” which means gameplay within the Depths of Night should run more efficiently.

Alright, let’s proceed. I hope your journey delves deep into success. If you haven’t already, thank you for waiting for moderation before diving in.
