Summary
- Players call for changes to Elden Rin Nightreign’s revival mechanic.
- Reviving process interruption leads to bar reset, making it difficult to revive teammates in Nightreign.
- Suggestions include establishing checkpoints during reviving process.
Players of Elden Ring: Nightreign are requesting adjustments to one of the game’s fundamental cooperative features, specifically, resuscitating teammates. The renowned developer FromSoftware’s latest offering, Elden Ring: Nightreign, is an exciting new action RPG that expands upon the original Elden Ring concept while incorporating several roguelike elements.
The game Elden Ring is one of FromSoftware’s most celebrated series, with the original title garnering multiple esteemed accolades, including Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2022. Following this achievement, FromSoftware introduced the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC to extend the game world and introduce fresh characters. Consequently, anticipation ran high when Nightreign was officially unveiled in December 2024.
The game Elden Ring: Nightreign has received a mix of positive and negative feedback since its release, with numerous players finding it challenging to adjust to its unique gameplay style. One aspect that gamers have suggested needs improvement is the revival system. In contrast to the original Elden Ring, teammates in Nightreign can be resurrected when they fall, a feature reminiscent of revival mechanics found in other cooperative games, particularly battle royale titles. When a player is downed, a three-part revival gauge appears above their character. Striking the fallen ally depletes this gauge, and once it’s fully drained, the Nightfarer can carry on fighting. However, one of the main criticisms is that it takes too many attacks to successfully complete the revival process at present.
Elden Ring Nightreign Players Suggest Changes to Reviving Mechanic
As a gamer, I’ve encountered a problem with the revival system where if it gets interrupted, my teammate’s health bar starts refilling in a blink of an eye. This means I have to keep attacking them relentlessly to prevent the bar from resetting, which can be quite stressful and frustrating. It’s particularly annoying when I have to abort a revive attempt because of a sudden boss attack or getting hit myself, only to see all my efforts go to waste as their health bar resets back to zero.
Furthermore, players have pointed out that in Elden Ring Nightreign, if a teammate is knocked down for the third time, it’s almost impossible to revive them because of the lengthy process of depleting all three bars. Some players propose that each bar could serve as a checkpoint, so that once two segments have been cleared, only the final bar should start recharging again.
In the tradition of roguelike games needing frequent adjustments, even after their launch, it’s anticipated that Elden Ring Nightreign will undergo regular tweaks. Previously, FromSoftware announced several significant updates for Elden Ring Nightreign, primarily aimed at enhancing the single-player experience. The studio has also disclosed a DLC release in Q4 2025, which will be complimentary for those who possess the Deluxe Edition.
