A recent financial report from Kadokawa suggests the DLC will be released before the end of March 2026. The report also indicates that Duskbloods, the delayed FromSoftware game for the Nintendo Switch 2, is also slated to launch before that date.
The Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC will introduce new characters called Nightfarers, along with new bosses. While details are still limited, these Nightfarers could offer a variety of different gameplay styles, similar to the classes already in Elden Ring. It’s likely they’ll each have their own special questlines and will add to the story and background of the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.
It’s very likely the DLC will add new items and equipment to the game, like weapons and consumables. The DLC also introduces challenging new bosses, and players looking for an even greater test can try facing these bosses in the recently added Deep of Night hardcore mode.
Nightreign Players Have Something To Look Forward To In 2026
As a gamer, I’m super hyped that we finally have a release date for the Nightreign DLC! It’s been a bit of a mystery since the game launched, and knowing when we can jump back in is awesome. The Duskbloods news is cool too, but honestly, it stinks that it’s only coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 – that’s leaving a lot of us out. But hey, early 2026 is shaping up to be a great time to be a FromSoft fan, regardless!
With the release of the Elden Ring Nightreign DLC getting closer, we can expect to learn more about what it will include and how much content there will be. If it’s similar to the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, players can anticipate a massive expansion that feels like a whole new game, but we’ll need to wait for official announcements to know for sure.
