Elden Ring Nightreign: Day and Night Cycle, Explained

The Day and Night cycle in Elden Ring’s Nightreign plays a distinctive role, shaping the overall layout of each Journey.

Adventures in Elden Ring, Nightreign’s realm, unfold over a course of three consecutive days. This setup presents challenges to players by placing them in two distinct scenarios: the initial two days are dedicated to gathering resources and boosting character strength, while the final day is reserved for confrontation.

As evening approaches, gamers need to conquer a Night Boss to move onto the following day. This pattern repeats until Day 3, when the Nightfarer(s) confront the Night Lord of that specific journey. Let’s delve into the details of how the Day and Night cycle functions in Elden Ring Nightreign.

ERN Day 1 and Night 1

During the daytime, the gaming experience is swift and filled with excitement, as players are continually involved in combat, gathering runes, and advancing their levels. A primary objective during this period is to defeat as many bosses as you can manage.

To boost the energy of their flasks, players should visit Churches, collect Smithing Stones to enhance their weapons, and discover hidden treasures and mini-bosses spread across the map. These elements can help strengthen you as the day turns into night. It’s best for players to be between Levels 6 and 7 during this stage.

As the evening approaches, the encircling rain (referred to as the Night’s Tide) gradually diminishes, compelling players to advance towards the climactic battle locale against the Night Boss. Overcome the boss to progress further in the game.

ERN Day 2 and Night 2

On Day 2, players find themselves transported to a new area, picking up from where they left off after defeating the previous day’s Night Boss. The primary objective for this day is to accumulate more flask charges, clear out camps, mines, and other sites to confront mini bosses and advance in levels. It might be more efficient to bypass common enemies since they don’t offer enough rewards to justify spending time on them.

On the second day, there’s a possibility that the Fell Omen could attack your group. If you happen to be underpowered during this stage, Margit may hinder your advancement by consuming your time or defeating you. Consequently, successfully completing Day 1 at levels 7 or 8 increases players’ chances of handling the Elden Ring’s initial boss more comfortably.

To advance to Day 3 and encounter the Night Lord, you’ll need to conquer the Night 2 boss as evening sets in. It is essential for players to have reached Level 11 or higher by the end of Day 2 if they wish to have any hope of overcoming the Expedition’s ultimate boss.

ERN Day 3

On the third day, players are transported to the Spirit Sanctuary to confront the ultimate adversary of the Journey, known as the Night Lord. Overcoming this formidable opponent grants you various rewards, such as Relics, fresh characters (on some occasions), Memory Pieces, and additional items.
