Eiichiro Oda Reacts to Chopper’s Live-Action Debut in One Piece Season 2!

As a devoted fan, I can share that creator Eiichiro Oda himself has voiced his thoughts on the highly anticipated unveiling of Tony Tony Chopper in the second season of Netflix’s beloved live-action series. In the chilly month of December 2024, I had the privilege to accompany Oda as he paid a visit to the bustling set in South Africa, where the team was tirelessly working on Season 2 filming.

In a post, Oda, the renowned mangaka, voiced his delight over the live-action debut of Chopper. He also acknowledged the talented team responsible for breathing life into the cherished character. “Our star for Season 2 is undeniably our quirky animal sidekick,” he penned. “Following rigorous testing and fine-tuning by the entire crew, the moment has arrived to reveal him!! From his appearance, fur, expressions, voice, lighting effects, and even gravity simulations – a top-notch team pooled their talents to bring Tony Tony Chopper to life, and now he’s all set to make his grand entrance onto the global stage!!

In a recent update, it was officially announced that the actors for The Suicide Squad and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, including Idris Elba, have been chosen to voice the live-action character Tony Tony Chopper. Additionally, Elba is set to appear in James Gunn’s upcoming Superman film as well.

In the world of manga and anime, Chopper debuted as the sixth crew member and in-house physician for the Straw Hat pirates, much like Luffy. Just like Luffy, Chopper has the ability to consume a Devil Fruit, specifically the Hito Hito no Mi, which grants him the unique power to transform into a reindeer/human hybrid.
