As an eager enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that I’m part of the anticipation for “Edge of Memories,” a fresh venture in progress for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Following the success of over a million players worldwide with “Edge of Eternity,” Midgar Studio is now delving into this captivating third-person action RPG. The artistic talents behind this game have previously graced titles like “Xenoblade Chronicles X,” “NieR,” and the legendary “Chrono Trigger.”
In collaboration with Nacon, Midgar Studio has been meticulously crafting “Edge of Memories” using Unreal Engine 5, promising a more engaging and dynamic gameplay experience. I can hardly wait to immerse myself in this exciting new journey!

Nacon and Midgar Studio are thrilled to unveil their upcoming project titled “Edge of Memories,” which is set within the universe of Edge of Eternity. This captivating indie Japanese Role-Playing Game (JRPG) developed in France was released in 2021, attracting more than a million players worldwide on PC and gaming consoles. The forthcoming “Edge of Memories” will provide an opportunity for gamers to delve into a fresh adventure within the realm of Heryon around Fall 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).
Hailing from Montpellier in southern France, Midgar Studio is a compact team of enthusiasts specializing in Japanese role-playing games. With their game, Edge of Memories, they invite players on a fresh journey that caters to both veterans and newcomers, seamlessly blending the depth of JRPGs with an artistic flair reminiscent of French animation. This action RPG in third-person perspective was crafted in partnership with acclaimed artists from the genre, such as character designer Raita Kazama (Xenoblade Chronicles X), writer Sawako Natori (NieR), singer Emi Evans (NieR / NieR: Automata), and composers Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger / Xenogears) and Mariam Abounnasr (Xenoblade Chronicles 3 / ONINAKI).
In this new chapter, the story unfolds on the continent of Avaris, which is ravaged by a disease known as Corrosion that transforms both flora and fauna, as well as humans, into monstrosities. Eline, a young wandering Soul Whisperer, travels across the land, employing her extraordinary healing powers to alleviate the suffering of the tormented populace. Built using Unreal Engine 5, Edge of Memories transports players into the core of an exhilarating epic that honors the JRPG genre. The game boasts a lively and vivid world, as well as a narrative that delves into profound themes such as displacement, a world afflicted by illness, the search for roots, and the necessity to adapt to a constantly evolving environment.
In Edge of Memories, players are immersed in an action-packed adventure, thanks to its dynamic gameplay and real-time combat. To emerge victorious, players must hone their skills with the character Eline, combine breathtaking combos with her two companions, and awaken the destructive potential of Berserk hidden within her. We at Midgar Studio are excited to introduce a new chapter in the Edge series, featuring a unique artistic style and a significant shift in gameplay from the tactical turn-based style of its predecessor to a more engaging Action RPG experience.
