Eddington Actor Micheal Ward Charged With Rape and Sexual Assault

On July 25th, Michael Ward, known for his roles in “Eddington” and “Top Boy”, was charged with two counts of rape, two counts of penetrative assault, and one count of sexual assault, as reported by BBC News. The prosecutor, Catherine Baccas, detailed that the charges stem from “two counts of rape, two counts of assault by penetration, and one count of sexual assault.” As stated by the Metropolitan Police, these allegations were made by a single woman regarding events that transpired in January 2023. In response to the charges, Ward, who is 27 years old, declared through BBC News that he rejects them “entirely”. His trial is scheduled for August 28th at the Thames Magistrates’ Court in London.

In 2019, Ward garnered attention by appearing in the third season of the Netflix British crime drama “Top Boy” as Jamie Tovell, also taking on the role of Marco in the musical film “Blue Story”. More recently, he played the character Michael, a police officer trainee, in Ari Aster’s production titled “Eddington“.
