EA's New Skate Game Gets An Exciting Update

As a seasoned skater and long-time fan of the Skate series, I can’t help but feel a rush of adrenaline coursing through my veins! After what feels like an eternity of anticipation, EA has finally confirmed that we’ll be able to get our hands on Skate in early 2025. The teaser might have been brief, but the promise of reshaping San Vansterdam into a skater’s paradise is more than enough to whet my appetite!

At Summer Games Fest 2024, EA and Full Circle didn’t have extensive gameplay footage of Skate ready, so they opted to present a comedic skit starring Tim Robinson from I Think You Should Leave as a humorous setup for the game’s narrative instead. However, if you’ve been eagerly anticipating updates about the upcoming installment in the series, the wait is finally over! Skate’s early access will be available starting in early 2025.

On the authorized Skate account, EA shared the news, accompanied by a tantalizing yet cryptic 19-second sneak peek of the upcoming game.

We’re thrilled beyond words to reveal that our project, skate., is set to debut in Early Access next year, 2025! We’ll be dishing out more information about its features in the upcoming months.

Previously mentioned, M-Corp, previously known as MongoCorp, is leaving behind the city of San Vansterdam. This departure offers gamers an opportunity to redesign the city according to their vision, transforming it into a thriving skate park for players to enjoy.

Interested players can register via the Skate Insider platform if they wish to join the early access phase. Previously, PC gaming enthusiasts were selected as testers and given a chance to experience the game ahead of time. Electronic Arts has yet to announce when console testing will commence.

Instead of the initial four games in the series being paid purchases, Skate is set to be a free-to-play game that allows cross-platform play between PC and console systems. Additionally, there will be a mobile version available. Full Circle Studio, working under EA’s wing, is developing this game, with an anticipated release date of 2025. In skate gaming updates, it appears that Tony Hawk has been in touch with Activision in preparation for the franchise’s 25th anniversary, hinting at potential competition for Skate.
