EA FC 25 Devs Break Silence: No Secret Gameplay Changes Amid Player Doubts!

25 players on FIFA 25 by Electronic Arts Football Club began speculating about changes in the gameplay, although the developers have not officially confirmed these alterations. However, they’ve publicly refuted such rumors.

Title Update 8 was launched on January 15th, bringing a significant transformation to the gameplay. It boosted passing abilities, weakened AI defending, and diminished the probability of defenders catching swift attackers. The community has hailed it as “the greatest patch ever” in FIFA history, as long-awaited problems were finally tackled.

It wasn’t long before the positive public feeling started to fade when certain players asserted that the changes they appreciated had been quietly rolled back in an updated version. Then, on February 3rd, Electronic Arts (EA) publicly addressed these allegations.

After some people said the improvements were secretly undone in a recent update, EA responded to those claims on February 3rd.

1. “In our latest update, there won’t be any alterations to the game’s balance as per your suggestions. However, some concerns were still lingering, leading developers to clarify further.”

2. “This update doesn’t change the balance of the game based on your feedback. But due to a few unresolved questions, the devs felt it necessary to provide more information.”

EA FC 25 devs double down against “shadow patch” allegations

For the past several weeks, there’s been talk about alterations to the gameplay from the Gameplay Refresh Update being reversed, modified, or sneakily adjusted, according to EA. However, to clarify what we mentioned in our latest Pitch Notes, these claims are not accurate.

Regarding Title Update 9, only two minor points mentioned in the Pitch Notes have caused concerns. However, since then, there haven’t been any new updates to the title, no server-side adjustments, and no alterations to the gameplay itself.

Developers shared insights on elements they’re focusing on for future gameplay adjustments, detailing their approach to avoiding major gameplay modifications since Update 8 was released.

EA stated that they noticed the favorable response towards the Gameplay Refresh Update among the gaming community, leading them to choose not to implement significant alterations in gameplay at this moment. Instead, they will keep tracking community feedback and internal statistics such as goals, shots, and passing accuracy per match.
