EA Confirms Forthcoming Star Wars Jedi Game Will Be The Last In The Series

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a tinge of melancholy as I hear about the final chapter of the Star Wars Jedi series. The journey of Cal Kestis has been a rollercoaster ride that I’ve shared with millions of fellow fans worldwide, and it’s hard to imagine saying goodbye.

During a recent investor event, Electronic Arts (EA) disclosed information about their financial status, upcoming game releases, and new projects being developed at various studios. They also gave an update on the Star Wars Jedi series during the gaming part of the presentation, which showcased Battlefield, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and Skate, with the latter set to begin Early Access in 2025.

As a die-hard Star Wars fan, I’m thrilled about the upcoming third and concluding installment in the Star Wars Jedi game series, being developed by Respawn Entertainment. This revelation was made during the presentation by Laura Miele, President of EA Entertainment and Technology, who handled the gaming segment. Now that it’s officially confirmed that this trilogy will unfold, I can’t wait to see how it shapes up without the influence of its previous game director, Stig Asmussen.

In simpler terms, the upcoming part, known as the “final chapter,” will be Cal Kestis’ last adventure (for now, but we’ll see), and it’s being created by the development team with great enthusiasm. They aim to share this concluding chapter of this thrilling story with players worldwide very soon. Miele mentioned that Respawn has already produced some of the highest-quality and best-selling Star Wars games ever made, earning over $5 billion in sales, and they’re eager to add to this success once the final Jedi game is released.

Miele went on to say that the remarkable success story of “this impressive track record” has attracted more than 40 million players to Star Wars Jed: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor since their debuts, and it seems likely that this trend will continue upon the release of the final Jedi game. Furthermore, there may be even more players who have become engrossed in Cal’s thrilling journey, as Respawn Entertainment recently re-launched Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for older generation consoles (PlayStation 4 and Xbox One) on September 17th, 2024.

The publisher and developer haven’t given more information about the upcoming Star Wars Jedi game, so there are still many questions about what we might see in Cal Kestis’ last adventure. Regardless, it’s certain that people will be talking a lot online about where the creative team for the final Star Wars Jedi game is headed, as they’ve confirmed that a new director will be leading the project.
