Techland, the developer behind Dying Light: The Beast, has pushed back its release by a few weeks. Instead of its initial launch, players can now expect the game on September 19 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The team is using this extra time to perfect the minute details of the game, focusing on aspects such as user interface, gameplay balance, and player animations before the new release date.
Techland announced that they aim to make Dying Light: The Beast their finest Dying Light game yet. To keep this promise, they’ve chosen to delay the release to September 19, 2025, so they can devote more time to perfecting the game. We know this news might be disheartening, but our past experiences have taught us that first impressions matter a lot. By giving themselves an extra four weeks, they can fine-tune minor details that can elevate the game from good to great.
Initially set for launch on August 22, Dying Light: The Beast presents a fresh solo journey featuring Kyle Crane, the lead character from the initial installment of the series. Following a decade of imprisonment and gruesome genetic manipulation orchestrated by an ominous figure referred to as the Baron, Crane ultimately escapes his confinement in pursuit of vengeance.
Pursuing the Baron, Crane navigates towards the now crowded with infected Castor Woods – a former tourist hotspot. Luckily, besides his parkour abilities, Crane possesses additional powers due to the Baron’s experiments, which grant him superhuman strength to break through hordes of zombies. In tougher situations, he can fall back on traditional firearms and melee weapons for added support in the fight.
In a preview of the game, Mark Delaney stated that “Dying Light: The Beast” leverages years of enhancements from Dying Light 2 and draws on aspects from the original game that developer Techland wished to revisit. This fusion of classic and modern elements suggests that the approximately 20-hour game (extending to 40-60 hours for dedicated players) could prove exceptionally rewarding if you’re already a fan of the series.
