Dungeonborne - Controller Support Explained

As a dedicated gamer with years of experience under my belt, I’ve grown fond of immersive and engaging dungeon crawlers, particularly those inspired by the dark fantasy genre like Dungeonborne. However, there’s one aspect that has left me feeling somewhat frustrated – the lack of controller support in this early access game.

Dungeonborne is a dark fantasy adventure set in an underworld reminiscent of Dark and Darker. In its early access stage, players delve into the depths either solo or with companions, encountering foes to battle and acquiring treasure. However, one issue the game faces is the absence of controller compatibility. Yet, could there be a workaround for this predicament?

Controller Support in Dungeonborne Explained

Previously mentioned, “Dungeonborne” lacks built-in controller compatibility. Consequently, players can only engage with the game using a mouse and keyboard. Unsurprisingly, some users have expressed displeasure regarding this limitation, as there’s no guarantee that such support will be implemented in the future.

Some individuals choose to ignore using the designated controller settings for certain games in their Steam library. They accomplish this by employing Steam’s internal tool. Upon connecting a gamepad to your computer, you will notice details about controller compatibility on each game’s specific page on the right side of the screen.

As a gamer, when I find myself playing a game without official controller support, I can still customize my experience by opening the controller settings. In there, I have the ability to create mappings and assign new functions to each button on my pad. Alternatively, if I’d rather not do it myself, I can look up community-made control schemes online for that particular game.

In the game “Dungeonborne,” adjusting custom controller settings often fails to function effectively. Designating particular functions to buttons may work sporadically or not at all. Therefore, you can make an attempt, but keep in mind that success is not guaranteed.
