Dune: Awakening Showcase goes over the mid-to-endgame, PC launch timings revealed

In a live broadcast, Funcom demonstrated the mid to late stages of the open-world multiplayer survival game “Dune: Awakening.” They detailed the game mechanics and offerings catering to both player vs environment (PvE) and player vs player (PvP) participants, offering insights prior to its June launch on PC.

Alongside discussing various aspects during the live broadcast, Funcom unveiled two trailers titled “Sandbox Combat — The Forms of Power” and “Games of Power — The Landsraad Explained,” for the upcoming game. The publisher has announced the release timings for Dune: Awakening on PC, which you can find below:

As Dune: Awakening’s early access starts on June 5th, with the official launch following on June 10th, Funcom has given a glimpse of what players can look forward to beyond the experiences offered during the recent large-scale Beta. Drawing inspiration from Denis Villeneuve and Legendary Entertainment’s critically acclaimed Dune films, Dune: Awakening is set to bring the expanses of Arrakis to life in a video game for the first time.

During the livestream, viewers got a sneak peek at the mid to late stages of Dune: Awakening. Funcom guided us through the expansive Hagga Basin, revealing that players will encounter much more than the 25% they saw during the Beta Weekend. They showcased various landscapes such as the lush O’odham, the ominous Hagga Rift, the towering spires and awe-inspiring rock formations of Jabal Eifrit, just to mention a few.

Players delve deeper into the expansive and varied terrains of Dune: Awakening, gradually peeling back layers of its captivating narrative that beta testers were already introduced to.

Before delving into the immense sandy expanses and potential perils of the Great Desert, players will first engage in an immersive survival game. They’ll ascend through the hierarchy of either Atreides or Harkonnen; construct robust fortresses; confront Imperial Trials; develop intricate blueprints; traverse diverse landscapes using various vehicles and many other captivating experiences.

The Landsraad function enables individuals to participate significantly in shaping the outcome for their entire group, regardless of their preference for player versus environment (PvE) or player versus player (PvP). In the Imperium, the educational institutions serve as significant powerhouses, providing abilities from Orders such as Mentats, Bene Gesserit, or Swordmasters. Worldwide launch times for the game have been made public. Players who purchase either the Deluxe or Ultimate Edition will gain early access starting from June 5, with the official release taking place on June 10.
