Funcom has declared that their multiplayer online survival game titled Dune: Awakening is set to debut for PC users on May 20th. However, the specific dates for its launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S have not been disclosed as of now.
In this version of the Dune universe, Paul Atreides does not exist as the central character. Instead, players take on the role of a captive transported to Arrakis to investigate the enigma surrounding the Fremen’s vanishing. Throughout their adventure, players progress from an anonymous survivor to potentially becoming either an ally of the Atreides or the Harkonnens.
Option for early buyers: They get the Terrarium of Muad’Dib decoration worth $50 as a bonus, which they can add to their base when they purchase the game at a price of $50.
Players additionally have the option of downloading both the character creator and performance benchmark tool to secure a unique code for redeeming a Frameblade Knife upon release. This tool also allows characters to be saved and utilized in the complete game, while the benchmark tool informs users whether their system hardware is compatible with running it. Although Funcom has yet to disclose comprehensive system requirements, the Steam page indicates that a minimum requirement is a 64-bit processor and operating system.
In Dune: Awakening, you’ll find a dynamic, ever-evolving desert landscape that alters weekly, offering fresh areas to discover and rewards to collect. The game also includes a global political system known as Landsraad decrees, which will affect every player, regardless of whether they side with Altreidas or Harkonnen.
In this multiplayer game, you have the freedom to play the storyline independently if you prefer, with Player versus Player (PvP) being an optional extra. You can even register for the beta testing directly from the game’s main website.
In the game Dune: Awakening, players can collaborate not only with characters alive in the book series, but also with those who have already passed away. Additionally, Funcom is planning to reimagine and revamp traditional survival game elements and aspects for this particular title.
