DRIVE Rally is full throttle nostalgia. 1.0 brings party mode, new cars & more

If you’re yearning for the authentic Colin McRae Rally vibe, then #DRIVE Rally could be your perfect match. After spending nearly seven months in Early Access, the game officially reached version 1.0 on April 16th, 2025, introducing new features, additional maps, a variety of vehicles, and numerous adjustments to enhance the gaming experience.

Rally fans, this one’s for you

#DRIVE Rally evokes the thrilling atmosphere of ’90s rally racing. Featuring legendary cars, a variety of international circuits, and an enthusiastic co-driver alongside us, the game combines nostalgic charm with contemporary arcade enjoyment. You can personalize your rides, conquer a user-friendly handling system (which might seem simple to grasp but could prove challenging to perfect), and delve into intricate landscapes such as Dry Crumbs, Holzberg, and Revontuli.

With the game’s full launch, the devs added a bunch of new content:

  1. Party Mode – Local hot steam multiplayer for up to 12 players.
  2. Free Roam with collectibles – Cruise and explore at our own pace.
  3. Global Leaderboard + Ghosts – Chase records and race with yourself.
  4. 6 new Co-Drivers – Each with their own championships and unlockable cars.
  5. 22 new cars – Across 3 rally classes.
  6. 600+ km of Rally Stages – Spread across 6 locations.
  7. Photo Mode.
  8. Full controller & wheel support – With force feedback.
  9. Steam Deck Verified.

In general usage, it appears that the game #DRIVE Rally receives mostly favorable feedback from OpenCritic and Steam reviewers. However, a common complaint is the monotonous gameplay. The cheerful co-drivers lend an appealing touch, but their chatter could become tiresome over time. Additionally, navigating can be challenging since there’s no minimap, although this seems to be by design, giving it a unique feel.

Great news! Developers at Pixel Perfect Dude are attentive and constantly making improvements, so there could potentially be a console version released in the future.
