I’m really bummed to hear that Dream injured his wrist! Apparently, he hurt it while helping Sapnap get ready for the Creator Clash boxing match – the one that unfortunately got cancelled. He’s worried about what this means for his ability to keep creating Minecraft content, and honestly, as a fan, that’s super concerning. I’m hoping he has a speedy recovery and can get back to doing what he loves soon!
In April 2025, Dream, a well-known YouTuber and streamer, offered to help his friend and fellow Minecraft creator, Sapnap, prepare for Creator Clash 3 by sparring with him in a practice boxing match.
Okay, so Dream, as amazing as he is at Minecraft, had never boxed before. It was pretty clear in the training footage – he didn’t really know how to punch! He was swinging really wide, like over the top, and kept hitting with his wrist instead of making a proper fist. It was honestly a little funny to watch, but you could tell he was trying his best!
The day after the sparring match, Dream shared on X (formerly Twitter) that he was experiencing wrist pain which was preventing him from making videos. He hoped the pain would eventually go away.
I injured my wrist while sparring with Sapnap, and it’s making it hard to film a video I had planned. Hopefully it’ll feel better tomorrow! 💀

Sadly, they weren’t able to help. Dream explains he didn’t address the problem until several months later when a doctor recommended surgery. The doctor discovered he had broken his scaphoid bone.
Doctors originally said he’d only need a cast for a month after surgery, but he’s now been wearing one for almost two and a half months. His recovery has been slower than expected, so he’s receiving a new treatment that uses sound waves to help him heal faster.
Considering everything, the YouTuber is worried about his career making Minecraft videos. He’s noticed his gameplay has been slipping lately, and viewers have commented on it too.
Dream worried for Minecraft career as wrist injury slowly heals
He shared details about what happened in a YouTube video on November 4th, explaining he was preparing for the next video in his Minecraft Manhunt series.
He said he was hoping everything would be okay. He has another appointment in a couple of weeks, and he’s hoping they’ll remove the cast then.
I’m optimistic about the future, but also a little scared. I know I’m fortunate to be where I am today, and I’m incredibly grateful for all of your support over the years.
I’m committed to creating high-quality work, but I need to prioritize recovering from a wrist injury. I’m a little concerned about whether I’ll ever reach my previous skill level, though I do believe I will.
He asked his fans for patience while he recovers, promising to return with even better videos once his wrist heals.
Sadly, his injury didn’t matter in the end, because Creator Clash 3 was ultimately canceled. The boxing event was first postponed, and then called off completely after a leadership change caused by criticism of the original organizer, iDubbbz.
