Since January 24, 1986, Douglas Richard Hogestyn has been a recurring character on the daytime drama “Days of Our Lives,” which airs on NBC (now also available on Peacock). He portrayed the complex and daring character John Black, who served as a spy, mercenary, police officer, private investigator, and undercover agent. Alongside Deidre Hall’s portrayal of Marlena Evans, Hogestyn played a significant role in creating one of daytime television’s most iconic romantic stories.

Outside of his role in “Days of Our Lives”, Douglas Hogestyn appeared in various projects. Notably, he was part of the musical CBS series “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” and several TV films during the 1980s and 1990s, such as “Generation”, “Beverly Hills Cowgirl Blues”, “One Stormy Night”, and “Night Sins”.
