In a conversation on the “Beyond the Velvet Rope” podcast, Bell expressed his readiness for a reunion with his past on-screen partner Josh Peck, hinting at a possible revival. He even mentioned that his ideal scenario would be to mimic the success of Larry David’s Emmy-winning sitcom.
I hold a very dear spot in my heart for ‘Drake & Josh’, and I’d be thrilled to reprise the character. What I truly wish is to explore something similar to ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’. In this hypothetical project, we would be portraying ourselves while trying to navigate modern life.
Bell discussed potential scenarios for the meta-reboot’s storyline. “Perhaps I’m trying to rekindle our relationship and he finds me irritating, telling me to leave him alone. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but I’d be thrilled to create a ‘Entourage’ or ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’-like series with Josh someday.
Bell expressed enthusiasm about the possibility of involving the entire extended cast of the popular Nickelodeon series in the project. This group includes his on-screen family members Miranda Cosgrove, Nancy Sullivan, and Jonathan Goldstein, as well as Jerry Trainor, Allison Scagliotti, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Vince Deadrick Jr. In simpler terms, he’s excited about inviting these actors to join the project because they were all part of the show’s main cast.
For four seasons, spanning 56 episodes, the hit Nickelodeon show “Drake & Josh” aired. This series was one of the most loved during the mid-2000s. The story revolved around Drake Parker (played by Bell), a popular guitarist, and Josh Nichols (Peck), an awkward high schooler, who unexpectedly became step-brothers when their parents got married.
