Dragon Ball Sparking Zero players blast game for doing fan-favorite character dirty

As a long-time fan who’s been following Dragon Ball since the days of black and white TV, I must admit that I was initially thrilled about Dragon Ball Sparking Zero. The game’s launch was like a dream come true, a perfect blend of nostalgia and modern gaming. But alas, my joy quickly turned sour when it came to Vegeta’s storyline in Episode Battles.

For players, it’s disappointing to find insufficient Dragon Ball Super content focusing on Vegeta within the Dragon Ball Sparking Zero’s campaign.

The video game “Dragon Ball Sparking Zero” has achieved phenomenal success, with sales exceeding 3 million units on its debut day alone. This game has now established itself as one of the most popular fighting games ever on Steam. The exhilarating gameplay and accurate representation of the iconic anime’s aesthetics and mood have resonated deeply with numerous franchise enthusiasts.

Indeed, it’s important to note that Dragon Ball Sparking Zero isn’t flawless. Although a bug that wipes out your entire saved progress can be infuriating, there’s an aspect of the game that is inexcusable for long-time fans of the Dragon Ball series across its different versions.

In the Episode Battles mode of the game, it appears that many fans’ beloved character Vegeta has been significantly mistreated. It seems some gamers are discovering that the game’s portrayal of Vegeta does not fully encompass his significant role in the anime series.

So why can’t I move on to the super saga? I’ve beaten Buu like 2 times now

Vegeta’s stint in Episode Battles ends abruptly after the Majin Buu saga of Dragon Ball Z and does not include his exploits in Dragon Ball Super. Despite Dragon Ball Sparking Zero having all the necessary characters to take Vegeta’s story beyond Dragon Ball Z, players won’t get to experience his fights with Cabba, Jiren, and more.

Many people find themselves strongly disagreeing with a game that boasts about providing a comprehensive Dragon Ball experience, as it lacks certain elements for some players. As one individual put it, “My admiration for this game took a significant hit when I reached this part.” Another player remarked, “It’s disappointing because they excluded several characters from Super that would have made the story mode feel more complete.

As a fellow gamer, let me share my thoughts on the game’s Episode Battles. It’s not just that Vegeta has been shortchanged; it seems other beloved characters have faced the same fate too. I was pretty disappointed when I realized Gohan’s story began right in the middle of the Cell saga. It felt like I jumped from Vegeta’s story straight into Gohan’s, leaving me feeling like I took a double hit below the belt. Another player echoed my sentiment, expressing similar frustration.

If you’re up for putting in some extra work, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero offers a Custom Battles editor that allows you to design epic battles from the ground up. It requires more effort than the pre-arranged gameplay of Episode Battles, but it could be just what Vegeta fans have been waiting for.
