Dr Stone Season 4 coming in 2025, but there’s a catch

As a seasoned gamer and anime enthusiast with over two decades of experience under my belt, I can’t help but share my thoughts on this Dr Stone announcement. Having witnessed the rise and fall of various series, I must admit that I find myself leaning towards the side of patience, especially when it comes to well-crafted stories like Dr Stone.

As a dedicated gamer, I can’t help but get excited about the upcoming finale of my favorite sci-fi anime, Dr. Stone! Here are some key details you won’t want to miss:

Dr. Stone is a Shonen manga and anime series that chronicles the journey of Senku, a brilliant scientist, living in a futuristic world where civilization has nearly vanished. His mission: to rebuild the world as it was more than 3000 years ago. The third season was divided into two segments, each containing eleven episodes, which were broadcast separately.

The narrative unfolds around Senku and his companions, who find themselves on a fresh isle, uncovering the mystery of the petrification. As the third season’s second part concludes, Senku devises a strategy to reawaken an abundance of individuals to bolster his space exploration endeavor, leaving viewers in suspense.

As a gamer, I’ve been pondering over Ukyo’s mention of Dunbar’s number – that idea which suggests a group can effectively operate with no more than 150 individuals. When you’ve got a lot of folks with varying viewpoints, it can stir up conflicts and potentially bring the whole group crashing down. Though Senku’s ambition to resurrect more people is inspiring, it does carry a good dose of risks along with it.

Despite being a young prodigy, he doesn’t back down from difficulties. His intention is to voyage to the United States in search of sweetcorn, a crucial ingredient for producing vast quantities of rejuvenation fluid. As the season concludes, Senku and his team prepare to embark on their journey across the ocean to America.

It’s been officially announced by TMS Studio that the fourth season of Dr Stone is set to air in 2025. In contrast to its preceding season with just two segments, this new season will be split into a total of three distinct parts.

2025’s Jump Festa, scheduled for December 21 and 22, 2024, is expected to reveal details about the forthcoming season. Yet, many enthusiasts have expressed their dissatisfaction with the recent announcement, while relatively fewer fans are expressing support for the studio’s decision.

One fan writes, “3 parts??? Just release them together. I am ready to wait.”

This constant ‘dividing the final season into parts’ is getting old. Either release the entire thing at once, or don’t release anything at all,” said another person.

One more fan complains, “I’m so sick of being forced to watch things in parts nowadays.”

On the contrary, another viewer agrees with the studio’s decision. They argue that if both seasons are released together, you would have to wait longer. Dividing them into three parts is done strategically so that you don’t have to endure a prolonged wait for the series to begin (and also to ensure the overall production quality isn’t compromised). So, consider yourself fortunate it’s being released in three installments.
