Dr Disrespect Demands Twitch Unban Him Amid Controversial Rule Changes!

Dr Disrespect reacted to Twitch’s updates on their ban policy by urging the platform to lift his ban, and he characterized his communications with a minor as mere shared humor.

On February 19, Twitch introduced modifications to its penalty system. These changes encompassed temporary bans for infractions, as well as tougher penalties for persistent rule-breakers.

On their Amazon-controlled platform, they assert that these changes are designed to shield creators from losing their audiences and income due to minor rule infringements. They also hinted that accounts flagged for potential issues might be reinstated at a later time.

On his own Guy Beahm (Doc) account, he responded to the updates by advocating for Twitch to take appropriate action, such as lifting the ban on him, and made a string of assertive statements criticizing the Twitch team.

Dr Disrespect accuses “biased” Twitch staff of bypassing the ban system

According to Dr Disrespect, Twitch’s decision to ban him for inappropriate messages he’d sent to a minor was a “mistake.”

It was inappropriate for Twitch to let a junior staff member overrule their previously established decision that we were not at fault, as this decision seemed influenced by personal biases towards the ‘Doc’ character.

Although things have been ‘settled 😎’, Twitch should do the right thing and correct their mistake of permanently banning the Doc by reinstating the channel.

In June 2024, ex-employees of Twitch finally spoke up about Dr Disrespect’s unexplained ban from the platform, alleging that he had sent inappropriate messages to an individual they knew was a minor.

Initially, Beahm acknowledged sending the messages, but later, during a YouTube broadcast, he accused Twitch of misrepresenting the context and harboring a grudge against him, an allegation he repeated in his blog post from February 2020.

He asserted that they easily could have had a brief, five-minute phone conversation to discover that their shared humor and joking were not meant seriously, as he put it, “unfortunately, it was all just shallow.

“Although things have been ‘settled,’ Twitch should do the right thing and correct their mistake of permanently banning the Doc by reinstating the channel,” he said, referencing his lawsuit against the streaming site.

After it became clear why he had been banned, Dr Disrespect lost his monetization on YouTube, was expelled from his gaming studio Midnight Society, and eventually joined Rumble to oversee their gaming division.

On the 30th of January, I was thrilled to hear that Doc’s YouTube channel had been re-monetized. Now, I can stream away knowing I’ll be earning some cash!

For creators temporarily removed from the program, they have the option to reapply. Upon a thorough examination of their latest channel activities, we’ve reactivated access once again.

We’re fully committed to Rumble Gaming, which strengthens my conviction in their platform even further. They’ve stood by us since day one.

The gaming community is just beginning its journey on Rumble, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it during these initial stages and for the long term.

Although Two-Time hopes Twitch will reactivate his account, he might perceive this move as a mere symbolic gesture. He has been staunchly backing Rumble and maintains that it has consistently supported him since its inception.
