Former professional League of Legends player Yiliang ‘Doublelift‘ Peng is now aiming for live event hosting roles, drawing upon his extensive background in performance and public attention.

When chatting with TopMob, Doublelift reminisced about a truly memorable experience from his competitive journey – stepping onto the stage at Madison Square Garden prior to going head-to-head against TSM.

Everyone was feeling quite anxious, but then Rick Fox joined us behind the scenes. He essentially encouraged us, telling us to step onto the stage and appreciate the audience watching us perform – they came to see us play and have fun.

At that instant, he found his focus. To be honest, I hadn’t truly grasped its significance before. When you gaze upon a sea of tens of thousands, it becomes almost inexplicable. However, seeing that crowd certainly made me refocus my thoughts.

What’s next for DL?

During the span of five years, he managed to secure eight League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) titles, which he referred to as a particularly memorable period in his life. Currently, his attention lies primarily with creating content and nurturing a community.

Regarding creating content for me, it’s a genuinely satisfying experience,” he expressed. “I believe the existence of a loyal audience is my main driving force… Continuously experimenting and considering what appeals to viewers is essential.

Moving forward, Doublelift plans to organize live League of Legends competitions with well-known personalities from the gaming community as participants.

As a devoted follower, I find myself predominantly drawn to the idea of this competition being a league, filled with familiar legends and personas. Stage fright is never an issue for me. Instead, I relish the feeling of being at the heart of it all, where the content unfolds around me.

As an avid gamer deeply rooted in the gaming community, I feel incredibly privileged to be in a one-of-a-kind situation that allows me to bring my visions to life.
